How do you feel about the BEFORE AND AFTER category?

The other six founding members of Group f/64 were:

  • Imogen Cunningham;
  • John Paul Edwards;
  • Sonya Noskowiak;
  • Henry Swift;
  • Willard Van Dyke;
  • Edward Weston;

At the group’s first showing, Preston Holder, Consuela Kanaga, Alma Lavenson, and Brett Weston also exhibited photographs.

The group was founded because the entire group had a similar focus (pun intended) in the photographic style characterized by sharp-focused and carefully-framed images, from a Western US viewpoint.

f/64 itself refers to a small aperture setting on a camera.

    In case anyone’s curious, Merriam-Webster says:

    the repetition of usually initial consonant sounds in two or more neighboring words or syllables (as wild and woolly, threatening throngs) —called also head rhyme, initial rhyme

    Note the “usually”. Alliteration can start with a vowel.

    Your quiz about rud Kipling ,. You said KiplingER. .not Kipling…what’s up?

      To clarify: this is a fan site. It was not my “quiz”.

      However: The clue was about Kiplinger Magazine, not Rudyard Kipling the author.
