It’s been so long since I’ve blogged, I feel a bit rusty! At that time. Christine Kim was the defending champion. She is coming to our Hangout Sunday at 5 Central.
I’d like to know your Valentine’s Day plans, since the holiday is my favorite. Here’s what I’m doing:

#BlinkerFluidis here… Come to Geneva, NE for our first gig. 2/14/15 @ 9pm.https://t.co/KmSKRnQaBg— Curtis Tomasevicz (@ctomasevicz)January 5, 2015

Jennifer Giles (22400 yesterday)

Adam Elkana-Hale (3000 yesterday)

Cathy Farrell (18600 yesterday)

Did you guys scream over this one in What’s in a Name?: “Of the 4 seasons, it’s the one that’s most often used as a girl’s name.” I came up with the correct response first, then started considering Jennifer’s! Cathy found the Daily Double in that category before the first break. I wonder if the judges paused here to consider Jennifer’s response.
Adam 2400 (4 right)
Cathy 1200 (4 right and one wrong)
Jennifer 400 (4 right and 2 wrong)
Cathy wagered everything on this clue: “Now used for girls as well as boys, this poetic name is from the Welsh for ‘son of the sea.'” She got it right! Jennifer got the next clue right worth 1000, and then came the break.
This clue in No. 2 Hits: “She had no problem reaching no. 2 with ‘Problem,’ a song that also features Iggy Azalea” made me think of this. Enjoy.

At the end of the round:
Adam 4400 (5 right)
Cathy 1800 (2 right and 2 wrong)
Jennifer 5200 (5 right)
Cathy naturally started Double Jeopardy with Science-y Stuff, but Adam got the first 2 clues right in the category. Cathy got the 3rd, and then came the Daily Double.
Adam 5600
Cathy 3000
Jennifer 5200
Cathy wagered everything on this clue: “Constructed around 1500 by a German explorer, the ‘Erdapfel’ or ‘Earth apple,’ is the world’s oldest one of these.” She got it right! Whoa, then she picked up a 2000 clue after Adam negged on it. On the last clue of the round though, Adam picked up a 2000 that Cathy and Jennifer had negged on!
Maybe all coffee shops look the same, but this one looks suspiciously like the one across from O’Brien’s in Santa Monica:

Jennifer found the next Daily Double in North by Northwest.
Adam 6000 (2 right and one wrong)
Cathy 10400 (3 right)
Jennifer 12800 (8 right)
She wagered 2000 on this clue: “Of Central Park: This university founded in 1754.” She was wrong.
At the end of the round:
Adam 10400 (5 right and one wrong)
Cathy 9600 (3 right and 3 wrong)
Jennifer 14400 (5 right and 2 wrong)
The Final Jeopardy category is Historic Names on the Map. This is the clue: “Nothing is known of his early life in England before 1600 or of the end of his life in North America after June 22, 1611.” Cathy was wrong and lost everything, leaving her with 18600. Adam was wrong and lost 10000, leaving him with 3400. Jennifer was wrong too, and lost 8000. This left her with 28800, and makes her the new Teachers Tournament champ! We’ll see her and Adam at our Hangout on Sunday at 5 Central. Back to regular episodes Monday.
Would you believe that two weeks from today, I’ll be adding a “five years ago” line below?!

One year ago: What do you think?
Two years ago: Day 2 Betting is Tough!
Three years ago: Nobody messes with the ‘do
Four years ago: What is Stuart Little?
