We started off in BIG CITY SUBURBS, and Salvo saw the first Daily Double very early on, under the $800 clue! The scores were:

Salvo made it a True Daily Double! His clue: Coral Gables, Hialeah. His immediate correct response put him at $2,000.
Over the first half of the round, Salvo only got in twice more, while Adam got 4 correct and Ryan 4 (to one neg for Ryan). The scores were:

Ryan picked up another two negs coming out of the break, keeping his score down. He did have 5 gets over the final 15 clues of the round, though. Salvo had 2 right, 1 wrong, where Adam had only 3 right, but none wrong!

I presented those two, as they were the only two that Salvo got right in the round! A very unusual performance by a 3-time defending champion!
After getting DEFENSE ABBREV. $1600, Salvo switched out of the category. To MEXICAN HISTORY $400. Sigh. Adam went back and found the Daily Double at $2000. Scores were:

Adam bet $3,000. His clue: NPT: This type of treaty that aims to stop the spread of weapons. His correct response put him at $18,000!
Ryan got to play the final Daily Double, under BALLET $1600 — the penultimate clue of the Double Jeopardy! round (one $2,000 clue to play): The scores were:

Ryan bet just $2,000. Sigh. His clue: 4 Indian ballerinas were featured in “Four Moons”, a 1967 ballet commemorating the 60th anniversary of its statehood. A correct response from Ryan put him at $19,600, but gave Adam an opening, which he nearly was able to take advantage of! Adam negged the final $2,000 clue. In total, Ryan picked up 14 in Double Jeopardy and Adam 11 over the entire round. Scores going into FJ!:
