Tomorrow is the 42nd anniversary of the debut of the San Diego Chicken ― it’s one of the chapters in my second book “The Games That Changed Baseball: Milestones In Major League History”. And they didn’t go there. Twice in a week I’m greatly disappointed with the Final Jeopardy clue.
As for Dandy being so short-lived? You can blame the San Diego Chicken for that, too! From the Wall Street Journal:

Look no further than the San Diego Chicken and Lou Piniella.On July 10, 1979, the Chicken—on sabbatical from the Padres, his regular employer—was working for the Seattle Mariners at the Kingdome, where he threw a hex on Yankees pitcher Ron Guidry as he warmed up. Mr. Piniella, the Yankees’ left fielder at the time, considered this to be in poor taste, so he chased the Chicken and, lacking apparent success, fired his glove at him in a fit of rage.In the wake of that fiasco, Mr. Steinbrenner supported Mr. Piniella by telling reporters that mascots had no place in baseball—this, just two weeks before the Yankees were to introduce their own.

One thing, I wanted to point out was that you have Ricky at $25,999 but if indeed the scores before Final Jeopardy! are correct and Ricky wagered the maximum $399 based on those scores, shouldn’t his total be $25,599, ($400 less that what it reads as of my comment?), I assume that if what I see is true, it is nothing more than a clerical error and I mean that without any slight to you or anyone else.
In any event, tonight’s episode looks to be most exciting, Thanks again, Andy and those associated for the informative posts and live panels, they are quite appreciated.
