During her run so far, Cindy Stowell has won $103,803. She had pledged to donate all of her winnings to cancer research. Unfortunately, Cindy passed away on December 5; she had competed on the show with stage IV cancer. Her friends and family will also appreciate donations on her behalf to the Cancer Research Institute. Many fans are watching the show and electing to donate $1 for each correct response they give while playing at home, an idea come up with by Chelsea Cohen, one of last Thursday’s challengers!
Also, another thing I’ve seen since Cindy’s run started, as I’ve seen a few people disappointed that Jeopardy! did not move up her airing so that Cindy herself might be able to watch: After her audition, Cindy’s taping was fast-tracked so that it would happen as soon as was possible. Because the show has returning champions, the show is obviously obligated to air episodes in the order that they were taped. This week of shows was literally the earliest that Cindy’s airdates could be. Finally, do rest assured that further proving how amazing the show’s production staff is: They ensured that an advance copy of Cindy’s episodes were sent to her. Cindy was able to see her episodes before her passing.

Left-hand driving dates back to where before cars existed, as most swordsmen were right-handed (and their swords on their left side). It thus made sense to keep your dominant arm close to a potential opponent (and their sword avoiding an accidental clash).
However, things started to change around the time of Napoleon. Horse-drawn teamster wagons were easier to control from sitting on the left rear horse, which was thus easier to control when keeping right. Napoleon instituted a keep-right rule, but those who opposed the Corsican kept left as a form of resistance. Even though continental Europe all made the switch, Britain never did.
Of the 55 countries still with left-hand traffic, most of them (like the Bahamas) are former British colonies in the Caribbean and South America, southern Africa (as far north as Kenya), south and southeast Asia, and Oceania. A notable exception to that is Japan, which instituted a drive-on-the left rule in the 1870s because it was the British who built the original Japanese railway network. Because the British were left-running, so went Japan.
On the Bahamas, the westernmost district of Bimini’s nearest point to the United States is about 50 miles due east of Miami.
Having spent vacation time in the Bahamas, it can be an oft-harrowing experience as a passenger, as a large number of the cars are nominally right-hand drive vehicles imported from the United States now being driven on the left side of the road.
