After Leon Bourgeois came up on Monday in the League of Nations clue, this is the second time in a week that the word “Bourgeois” has come up in a Final Jeopardy! clue. Not that the writers would be able to confirm this, but I definitely get the sense that one of the writers went down the “bourgeois” Internet rabbit-hole and emerged from it bearing two Final Jeopardy! clues.
Of course, The Communist Manifesto is Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels’ famous political manuscript from 1848, in which it starts out in speaking of the class struggle between the proletariat “working class” and the bourgeois, those who own the means of production. It said that communism best evolved from capitalism, which certainly failed to happen in any of the forms of communism that appeared in the 20th century!
Also, I’m sure Amanda was very disappointed to see 2-LETTER WORDS come up as a category today after being dethroned yesterday, after Scrabble got mentioned in all three of her interview stories with Alex Trebek during her own run!
