Who is John Marshall?

It’s been a few years, at least from what I can remember, when the Final Jeopardy category has been tied into the game boards like this!
Jeopardy! round categories: THESE AREN’T BIBLE BOOKS; DUDE-ERONOMY; JOB, NOT JOB; FIRST, QUEENS; ADAPTATIONS 5; SYNONYMS 1 & 2
Double Jeopardy! round categories: THESE ARE BIBLE BOOKS; I KINGS; EXODUS; SONG OF SOLOMON; REVELATION; and L”UKE”.
Meanwhile, with regards to Final Jeopardy: the 1796 case was Ware v. Hilton. It allowed British creditors to recover debts previously owing to them by American citizens, as per the 1783 Treaty of Paris (in spite of a Virginia law nullifying those debts). John Marshall’s arguments for states rights in this case greatly enhanced his reputation, and he became Chief Justice himself in 1801.
Finally: With Ellen at the 3-win mark, she’s now onto the ToC Tracker (of course, in this instance, she’s on Page 2 at the moment.)
