The famous quote from Kissinger came in 1970, very shortly after William Watts resigned from the National Security Council in protest of the Nixon administration’s decision to invade Cambodia. Kissinger, who supported the invasion and was trying to convince others on the National Security Council to also support, said “We are all the President’s men, and we’ve got to behave that way”. This quote then became the title of Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward’s famous book about Watergate break-in of 1972 and detailing Woodward’s secret meetings with Deep Throat (later revealed to be FBI Associate Director Mark Felt.)

This is kind of a tricky one. If you know a fair amount about the Nixon administration, three names come to mind, the correct answer as well as Haldeman and Ehrlichman.

As for Henry K, I think of him more as a Jewish American than a German-American, separating those two for obvious historical reasons. So I went with Haldeman, wondering whether it was Ehrlichman. On the reveal, of course, you pop yourself on the head and say, oh yeah, he’s German-American as well!

Probably helps to know relatively less about Nixon and immediately think of his most famous advisor. Would help even more to specifically know the factoid.

    • This might be where knowing too much might hurt you. Of the three candidates you mention, Kissinger is easily the most famous. Also, I believe he was the only one born in Germany, making him more clearly German American.

  2. After scrolling up & down several times, I am not seeing the date when this episode first aired. Am I missing something?

    • It is near the top right above the final jeopardy clue- season 22 game 147.

      • Thanks, I saw that – but it doesn’t help much. What DATE was That?
I was hoping Andy would simply give the date as he did yesterday…

    • Clicking on the link, “two weeks of Alex’s favorite episodes from around the world” which is just below the jeopardyfan.com listing of the episodes clue gives a list of the ten shows being repeated and gives the original date those episodes were aired.

  3. Found out Michael Falk, from this come from behind first win, went on to become a TOC winner!

    • Matthew Yothers | December 22, 2020 at 1:29 pm |

Not to mention he came into the TOC with just 3 wins and $59,403.

    • Matthew Yothers | January 5, 2021 at 12:09 am |

Surprisingly, he became the only 3-time champion so far to win the ToC, and one out of only a few 3-time champions (others being Doug Hicton and Emma Boettcher) to move on to the finals.

  4. Thanks, I saw that – but it doesn’t help much. What DATE was That?
I was hoping Andy would simply give the date as he did yesterday…

  5. Robert – Thank you so MUCH!
You are my hero – all day long!

  6. Brad (not Rutter) | December 22, 2020 at 5:00 pm |

Quite a strange game. Defending champ basically shut out..did he get a single answer right in double jeopardy?

    • Frank Borland | December 22, 2020 at 10:08 pm |

Brad, he only got the first three Opera clues right while getting one wrong in “M”edicine (the $1600 clue). Those were the only times he got through during DJ. Source: J! Archive.

  7. Eggs are rich in protein. Apparently that isn’t common knowledge.

  8. Pinky Hertel | December 22, 2020 at 8:43 pm |

I really enjoyed the Capt Spaulding category! I excitedly shouted the responses, was surprised nobody buzzed in for the Animal Crackers clues, and admittedly expected my man Lizard to run the category. That guy was cracking me up. Love Pinky

  9. Prithvi Sudhakar | December 23, 2020 at 12:02 pm |

    I remember seeing this category.

Hey, wasn’t Ken Jennings on Sesame Street once?
