Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: In this second of today’s quarterfinals, we have Pomona’s Lauren Rodriguez, Notre Dame’s Matt Downing, and Georgia’s Elijah Odunade. The winner of this game will be competing in the second semifinal on February 17 against Stanford’s Isaac Applebaum and LSU’s Stephen Privat.

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Lauren goes to a school across the street from four other colleges.

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • I’m disappointed that Mayim failed to remind Matt that he could bet up to $2,000 on a Daily Double.
  • Unfortunately, we are still waiting for an instance of all three players in a game betting $0 in Final Jeopardy.

  1. Impressive win by Lauren. I’m just glad Elijah got “bulldog.” I’m sure everybody in Athens, Ga was yelling out the answer to that one.

That was a dominant performance by Lauren! Keep an eye on her in the next round!
And… my FJ 2 game win streak comes to a crashing halt. I’ve never read Milton, but I felt like I could have guessed at Paradise Lost if I’d had a couple of minutes to think 🙄😅
