Today’s contestants:

Keshava Guha, a writer from London (2-day total: £10,700)
Keshava Guha on Jeopardy UK

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Keshava Guha enters the second week of Jeopardy UK episodes as a 2-day champion. Today, he faces off against Inverness’s Alan Mackay and Leeds’s Katy Kit. Keshava’s average Coryat score, if calculated on a US board, would be around $23,100. He is a very strong player, and Alan or Katy would absolutely need to bring their “A” game in order to beat him. That being said, I do think that the fact that there are 90 clues on the British episodes (compared to 60 in the United States) does allow the challengers more opportunity to get their footing on the signaling device: proof of this is how Keshava himself turned the tables on Miles Searle a couple of games back.

For viewers in Canada with access to BBC First, the Jeopardy UK episodes will be airing, once weekly and starting with Episode 1, beginning on January 10 at 9:00 PM Eastern.

Another reminder that I have started a Sunday mailbag column where I answer fan & viewer questions regarding the show. If you have a question, feel free to send it to mailbag@thejeopardyfan.com!

If you’re looking for a quick rundown of what happened last week, I write a weekly recap column for Geeks Who Drink’s Questionist, released every Sunday. Yesterday’s column was titled “Hollywood Shootout”. Questionist also has a newsletter that you can sign up for!

While Kapoor has become more controversial in the art world in recent years, especially after receiving exclusive rights to use the extremely low-reflective substance Vantablack, he was the sculptor of Cloud Gate, the centerpiece of AT&T Plaza at Chicago’s Millennium Park. The work consists of 168 stainless steel plates welded together; the work has no visible seams.

  1. Thanks for these recaps, it’s really nice to read your analysis after watching each game! A minor correction – the language Alan speaks is spelt Gaelic, which is the source of Stephen’s hesitation when pronouncing it. Thanks from the UK!
