Scarlett Johansson’s Husband—Colin Jost—Tapped To Host “Pop Culture Jeopardy”

Pop Culture Jeopardy! has its host: Saturday Night Live‘s Colin Jost.

Jost, also known to many as the less famous half of a celebrity power couple—being married to Scarlett Johansson—has been tapped to host the Amazon Prime Video series.

Production is set to begin in August for this; Jost is currently covering Olympic surfing in Tahiti for NBC. Jost’s single statement so far: “What is, I’m excited.”

Editorially, I have to trust that the Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” joke from April 2023 that mocked Brian Henegar was not written by Jost himself; aside from this, I would say it is a good get for the Jeopardy! family to get a host that is well-known in pop culture circles.

While production is set to begin in August, a premiere date for the series is yet to be announced

  1. I’m definitely in the minority here, but I am EXTRAORDINARILY disappointed by the host selection. My opinion of SNL as a whole was already sour and in decline (for reasons unrelated to Jeopardy) before the fiasco with Brian, but that just pushed it down to a level of low I didn’t think was possible.

While I know Colin Jost will probably be good for ratings, this decision is one of the most disappointing made regarding the show itself in the post-Richards era. Maybe Colin will surprise me, but for now, my excitement regarding this has gone down the drain.

    • There’s nothing I can do about this, but I couldn’t let that incident pass without at least noting it—again, I have to hope that Jost himself wasn’t involved with the writing of that joke.

  2. It would have been insensitive and inappropriate to say that about Brian regardless, but was particularly upsetting because his mustache DOESN’T even look like that! Such remarks were lame and ill-educated in addition to being insensitive and inappropriate.
