(Editor’s note: This article was updated January 14 with further information.)
The ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area have caused the postponement of taping of the 2nd Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament.
Audience members with tickets were informed of the cancellation earlier today; one of those audience members reported this to The Jeopardy! Fan.
The tournament was set to tape next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (January 15–17). Taping of the tournament has been rescheduled to February 4–6. Airdates for the tournament have yet to be confirmed; it is currently unknown whether or not this tournament will air immediately following the Tournament of Champions, or if there will be two weeks of regular play in between—there is a taping of regular episodes scheduled for January 27–28. The tournament is set to award a spot in Jeopardy! Masters for its victor, with Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, and Mattea Roach—the three players relegated from last year’s Masters—among the contestants vying for that spot.
According to updated reports, at least 24 people have been killed and more than 12,000 structures have been damaged or destroyed thus far in the Los Angeles area due to the fires.
Once again, The Jeopardy! Fan wishes that none of its readership or the Jeopardy! staff have been negatively affected by these wildfires.

These fires are such bad news. Safety does come first however.
Definitely Thomas
I too was scheduled to sit in as an audience member next week. I sure hope that these fires end soon.
I will be there on the 27th for my 4th taping
