Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:
For the first time all week, we have a new champion on UK Jeopardy! in Dan Afshar, who unseated Abby Hallett yesterday after Abby didn’t bet enough in Final Jeopardy. Today, the former Buckingham Palace electrician faces off against Liverpool’s Stephen Porter and West London’s Claudia Prettejohn.
I should point out an important note for those who are finding a way to watch this from North America: The UK’s time change happens on Sunday, moving from GMT to British Summer Time. Thus, beginning on Monday, while the show is still airing at 3:00 PM London time, that will become 10:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time (instead of the 11:00 AM EDT it is this week and last.

Jeopardy! Round #1:
(Categories: Edible Names; 1999; Planets; Formula 1 Circuits; Reality TV Moments; Why “O-Y”; Soft Drinks)
Despite two of today’s players making ill-advised guesses in the F1 category, Claudia ran the reality TV category just before finding the Daily Double. Unfortunately, she got it incorrect, losing some of her gains. Even though Dan did get the other 4 clues in the F1 category—including knowing of Brands Hatch—I’m still salty about his miss on the £125 clue. Dan led after 35 clues.
Statistics after Jeopardy Round #1:
Dan 20 correct 3 incorrect
Stephen 4 correct 0 incorrect
Claudia 6 correct 3 incorrect
Scores after Jeopardy! Round #1:

Double Jeopardy! Round:

Stephen had another crack at a Daily Double, but lost £250 on this one. With 16 clues to play, and a Daily Double, Dan had £2,450 to Stephen’s £650 and Claudia’a £275. After the break, Stephen found the last Daily Double, but got it incorrect, handing a runaway game to Dan.

Claudia 18 correct 6 incorrect
Stephen 15 correct 6 incorrect
Scores going into Final:

Stephen even admitted this was a ‘you either know it or you don’t’ clue; nobody knew this one on-set, but Dan’s runaway makes him a 2-day champion. He’ll defend again on Monday.
Tonight’s results:
Stephen £350 – £300 = £50 (Victoria)
Claudia £425 – £275 = £150 (Who is Henry VIII)

I “Wild Guessed” George V. [If this had not been in UK Jeopardy! I would have wondered if it was Elizabeth II, because I knew she was buried in a vault under the central aisle of a chapel in a part of Windsor Castle, but I do not know where Westminster Abbey is. But I figured UK contestants would be expected to be a lot more knowledgeable than that.]
Just catching up tonight after being away at the weekend. I wild guessed Victoria. No real idea.
