Warning: This page contains spoilers for the April 4, 2025, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as noon Eastern in some U.S. television markets.
Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category The Nobel Prizes) for Friday, April 4, 2025 (Season 41, Game 150):
Only one man & one woman have won Nobel Prizes in 2 different categories, with this category in common
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Mike Dawson, a technology manager from Portland, Oregon
|
Guy Branum, a writer & comedian from West Hollywood, California
|
Bryce Wargin, a post market surveillance coordinator from Kansas City, Missouri (4-day total: $70,199)
|
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
Today on Jeopardy!, Bryce Wargin looks to become the 284th 5-time champion since 1984. Guy Branum and Mike Dawson look to stop Bryce from doing so. Even if Bryce doesn’t win at this point, his chances of making it into the Tournament of Champions are 95.31% at the moment—regardless of today’s outcome, the chances are very slim that this will be Bryce’s last game on the Alex Trebek Stage.
I should also note today that Jeopardy! has a long history of putting minor celebrities on in regular play; all the way back in Season 2, Chub Feeney was a contestant—when Feeney was serving as President of the National League.

The two people with Nobel Prizes in different categories are Linus Pauling and Marie Curie. Marie Curie’s are in Physics and Chemistry, while Linus Pauling’s are in Chemistry and Peace.
This felt like a straightforward Final Jeopardy clue to me—but it was also slightly easier because there was a clue about Marie Curie earlier this week on the UK version of the show.

Got this. I was tinkering between Peace and Chemistry. But on rereading the clue, ‘one woman’ directed me towards Chemistry.
Interesting that there was an error on the Jeopardy website extra questions game today – they referred to the actress from Ted Lasso as Hannah Waddington, and her last name is actually Waddingham.
I knew Marie Curie had – but went with the wrong guess of the two – physics.
Me too.
Me, three.
Same, unfortunately. Especially since I had the male winning Peace as the second, figuring it was a nuclear scientist who later campaigned against nuclear weapons.
Somehow the idea that the woman double Nobel prize winnerwas Marie Curie, and, one area she won in was chemistry, came to me. {robably from her being the subject of past Jeopardy clues. Since my thought was right, I finish the week with a win.
That is a (rare) occasion when I knew all the details of the fact. It happens probably about once a month.
Who is the minor celebrity Andy was referring to in his Pregame Thoughts being put on in regular play (other than Chub Feeney)? Guy Branum?
Guy Branum has considerable acting and writing credits on IMDb, most recently for ‘Hacks’ which I love.
Still hoping for Emma Stone on regular Jeopardy…
