Today’s Final Jeopardy – Tuesday, March 24, 2026

Warning: This page contains spoilers for the March 24, 2026, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as noon Eastern in some U.S. television markets.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Homophones) for Tuesday, March 24, 2026 (Season 42, Game 142):

A 2008 Best Picture Oscar nominee & a Roman goddess both have names that are homophones of this state capital

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Pranit Nanda, a commodity trader from Houston, Texas
Pranit Nanda on Jeopardy!
Abigail Marcolini, a book store clerk originally from Scottsdale, Arizona
Abigail Marcolini on Jeopardy!
Jamie Ding, a bureaucrat & law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey (7-day total: $195,203)
Jamie Ding on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Jamie Ding picked up another runaway victory in last night’s Jeopardy! to bring his win total to seven games; today, he faces off against Abigail Marcolini and Pranit Nanda in an attempt to pick up victory number eight.

For those viewers who are actively still trying to get on the show, this is a reminder that next Monday is March 30—or Jeoparday!—and the show has traditionally given everybody an extra opportunity to take the Anytime Test that day without it affecting your testing eligibility otherwise.

Among the many entities with the name Juno—a homophone of Juneau, Alaska—are the Roman goddess (Jupiter’s wife) and the 2008 Elliot Page/Michael Cera film that won Best Original Screenplay for Diablo Cody. Another Juno/Juneau homonym is Canada’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards; they are called the Juno Awards, named for Pierre Juneau, the first president of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and a champion of Canadian content regulations. Finally, Juno names an adorable Boston terrier that I had the joy of pet-sitting once for a couple of weeks in 2017—and I know I pointed out the homophone with the Alaskan state capital at some point in the 2010s.

While this was certainly an instaget for me, I don’t think it’s guaranteed to play 3 out of 3—it is straightforward, but you could get stuck if you end up starting on the wrong path.

Game Recap:

It looked like Jamie Ding might have given Pranit Nanda an opening after a miss on the game’s second Daily Double; it was not to be, though, for Pranit—Jamie went “on a tear”, as Ken put it, picking up 10 of the last 11 clues to claim a runaway entering Final Jeopardy.

Jamie then picked up his 37th correct response of the game with a correct response in Final; he’s now an 8-day champion and will go for #9 tomorrow.

Scores going into Final:

Jamie $27,000
Pranit $13,000
Abigail $1,000

Tonight’s results:

Abigail $1,000 – $999 = $1 (What is Augusta?)
Pranit $13,000 + $3,000 = $16,000 (What is Juneau)
Jamie $27,000 + $0 = $27,000 (What is Juneau?) (8-day total: $222,203)
