h2>Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

What is likely going to be the busiest week of the Jeopardy! calendar in 2026 kicks off today with Tristan Williams attempting to pick up victory #4 against Steve Greene and Jessica Doverspike.

In other Jeopardy! this week, Season 2 of Pop Culture Jeopardy! debuts today on Netflix, with the semifinals and finals of Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars airing this week on ABC. And yet, despite there being 14 games airing this week, I still don’t think the show is oversaturated. Nobody is being forced to watch all of the shows. I do it because I want to. If you just want to watch the five syndicated games, then do that. If you just want to watch Pop Culture Jeopardy! or Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars, then do that too. But there isn’t very much in the TV landscape these days that matches the Jeopardy! franchise, and we absolutely should be celebrating what has happened to the show in the last half-decade, not bemoaning what it has become. Because heaven forbid the general public likes the same thing you do—we aren’t supposed to be some sort of hipster group here. The last thing we need is for things to become exactly like golf where half the comments on any golf related posts are basically “shrink the game”. Give me a break.

When he was still a secretary to the Kaiser of the Holy Roman Emperor in 1454, the future Pope Pius II, in attendance at the Frankfurt Fair that year, and excitedly told a Spanish cardinal that the print on the famous Gutenberg Bible was so clear that “you could read them without your glasses”. while also expressing disappointment that the entire press run of 180 copies had already been purchased.

I suspect that a lot of guesses today are going to be of figures from the world of art, despite the fact that the only “Ninja Turtle” artist who would fit the time frame is Donatello. We shall see how it plays.
