Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Rebecca Joseph, a senior cost accountant from Denver, Colorado
Rebecca Joseph on Jeopardy!
Chenfei Lu, a data scientist from San Francisco, California
Chenfei Lu on Jeopardy!
Chris D’Angelo, a content manager from Washington, D.C. (4-day total: $83,600)
Chris D'Angelo on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Today, Chris D’Angelo looks to become the 293rd 5-time champion since Jeopardy! returned to the airwaves in 1984; your challengers today are Rebecca Joseph of Denver and Chenfei Lu of San Francisco.

Certainly, the increase in streak length recently by champions is not lost on me; I have a few more statistics to compile on why I think this is the case, but it’s definitely been noticed.

(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2026 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)

The first line of Charles Dickens’s A Tale of Two Cities is the more famous one: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”; the last, though, was “It is a far, far, better thing that I do, than I have ever one; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known”. The former describes London and Paris; the latter describes Sydney Carton shortly before his guillotining, having sacrificed himself in the name of love.

As long as you don’t get too hamstrung by too much knowledge and get stuck too much on the year 1859, this should be a relatively straightforward Final Jeopardy.
