Here’s the Pop Culture Jeopardy Final Jeopardy (in the category Screen Time) for Monday, May 18, 2026 (Season 2, Game 6):

While for most characters in this film one day passes, the director estimated that our main character lived “30 or 40 years”

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Pop Culture Jeopardy! contestants:

Quality Tigers, Helena & Caro
Quality Tigers on Pop Culture Jeopardy!
The Head & The Heart, Ben & Elisabeth
The Head & The Heart on Pop Culture Jeopardy!
Ert & Bernie, Grant & Matthew

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Now that One Baddie After Another have been retired as 5-time champions, we welcome three new teams to the Alex Trebek Stage, in the Quality Tigers, The Head & The Heart, and Ert & Bernie.

I’ll be honest, though: it’s been a little bit disappointing thus far not to see any official standings posts from the show, because we still have no idea what criteria the show is using to determine who qualifies for the semifinals if there aren’t 9 teams who win at least one game. This is also making me hesitant about making wagering suggestions, at least not until I get official confirmation as to what the qualification criteria is.

On a lighter note: I find it incredibly amusing that Netflix has gone to the trouble of dubbing audio of a game show—including separate voices for the contestants—in Czech and Polish.

Nice try, Jeopardy! (Or, actually, Jeopardy! is allowed to reuse answer lines as much as it wants, especially if it can find multiple ways to ask about the same stuff. One of the things I most enjoy about the writers is their creativity in that regard.) In any case, Groundhog Day has been a favorite topic of the show over the years; the 1993 Harold Ramis film starring Bill Murray tells the story of Phil Connors, a Pennsylvania weatherman who was assigned to cover Groundhog Day celebrations and is then forced to relive February 2 thousands of times. When taking into account the amount of time it takes to achieve expertdom in a field, director Ramis estimated that Phil Connors was stuck in the time loop for approximately 12,400 days.

Game Recap & Tonight’s Game Stats:

Here’s the recap for Season 2, Episode 6:

Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: TV Comedy Characters; Yes, Chef!; Viral Songs; Respond Like An Award Winner; Join Them On The Pod; The Muppet Godfather Saga)

Things were turning out quite close early on. Once the Daily Double eventually came out, it was The Head + The Heart who went for a True Daily Double. Of course, they ran into a surprisingly difficult clue for the $400 level and fell back to $0. After 30 clues, Ert & Bernie led after going 3/5 in TV comedy characters and responding like an award winner, while The Head + The Heart went 4/5 in Muppet Godfather Saga and 3/5 in viral songs.

Today’s interviews:

Quality Tigers are named after their mascot from middle school.
The Head & The Heart is a neurology pharmacist & a cardiologist.
Ert & Bernie are not at all related to Bert & Ernie (“for legal reasons”).

Statistics after the Jeopardy round:

Ert & Bernie 10 correct 1 incorrect
Quality Tigers 5 correct 0 incorrect
The Head & The Heart 11 correct 4 incorrect

Scores after the Jeopardy! Round:

Ert & Bernie 5,000
Quality Tigers 3,400
The Head & The Heart 200

Double Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: Cold Girl Winter; Celebrity Lore; The Mandela Effect; Real People, Fake Stuff; We’re Blinding You With Science!; E-evil Woman)

Ert & Bernie managed to avoid the Daily Doubles, which may have helped them here, as both The Head and the Heart and Quality Tigers both got theirs incorrect. This meant that Ert & Bernie led entering Final. Meanwhile, everyone had at least one good category—Quality Tigers went 3/5 in Cold Girl Winter, The Head & The Heart went 3/5 in Mandela Effects and science, and Ert & Bernie went 3/5 in celebrity lore and evil women.

Statistics after Double Jeopardy:

Ert & Bernie 20 correct 3 incorrect
Quality Tigers 14 correct 1 incorrect
The Head & The Heart 17 correct 5 incorrect

Scores going into Final:

Ert & Bernie 13,000
Quality Tigers 11,200
The Head & The Heart 5,000

Everyone did know that the correct response was Groundhog Day, and had Final Jeopardy been 32 seconds long, we would have had a different winner. Unfortunately, “Think!” is a 30-second song, and our leaders were 5 letters short. That means Quality Tigers get to return tomorrow to defend their championship!

Tonight’s results:

The Head & The Heart 5,000 + 5,000 = 10,000 (What is Groundhog Day?)
Quality Tigers 11,200 + 7,200 = 18,400 (What is… Groundhog Day) (Winner)
Ert & Bernie 13,000 – 9,500 = 3,500 (What is Groundh)

Current Overall Standings:

  1. One Baddie After Another: 5 wins, 144,700 points
  2. Quality Tigers: 1 win, 18,400 points

Quality Tigers, today's Pop Culture Jeopardy! winners (for the May 18, 2026 game.)

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • Heartbreaking finish, but unfortunately, an underrated part of preparation is knowing how long 30 seconds is—and watching the show does help with that…
