Today’s Final Jeopardy – Wednesday, June 10, 2026

Warning: This page contains spoilers for the June 10, 2026, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as noon Eastern in some U.S. television markets.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Heading North) for Wednesday, June 10, 2026 (Season 42, Game 198):

If you want to visit the world’s northernmost town, know that most flights are 3 hours to or from this national capital

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Katelyn Mueller-McLean, an accessibility audio producer from San Francisco, California
Katelyn Mueller-McLean on Jeopardy!
AJ Maroney, a beverage manager from Boston, Massachusetts
AJ Maroney on Jeopardy!
Dan Laine, a software engineer from Jersey City, New Jersey (1-day total: $2,193)
Dan Laine on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

What do you call a Jeopardy! player who wins a game with $2,193? Champion. Dan Laine (whose last name is pronounced with a silent I and not how Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine pronounces it) is your new champion thanks to a small bet in Final Jeopardy yesterday. Certainly, the Unified Prediction Model does not think that Dan has a good chance of winning today, which is potentially good news for our two challengers in AJ Maroney and Katelyn Mueller-McLean.

In order to fly to Longyearbyen (the world’s northernmost town), located on the island of Svalbard in Norway, one must take a 3-hour flight from Oslo; both Norwegian and SAS fly there.

(To the Canadians who will inevitably end up saying “What about Alert? The show missed Alert!” Firstly, Alert isn’t a town, it’s a military base and has zero permanent settlers. Secondly, one of the show’s head writers is Canadian, do you really think the show would miss this if it were true? Thirdly, you can’t get to Alert from Ottawa in 3 hours. You can’t even get to Iqaluit in 3 hours.)

Game Recap:

  • 20 Triple Stumpers and 15 incorrect responses kept our scores depressed throughout today’s game as AJ Maroney led entering Final Jeopardy with just $4,400.
  • For the second day in a row, though, we saw a small bet from third in Final, which was enough for Katelyn Mueller-McLean to win from third place! She’ll be back tomorrow to defend.
  • Scores going into Final:

    AJ $4,400
    Dan $3,600
    Katelyn $3,400

    Tonight’s results:

    Katelyn $3,400 – $0 = $3,400 (What is Reykjavik?) (1-day total: $3,400)
    Dan $3,600 – $807 = $2,793 (What is Helsinki?)
    AJ $4,400 – $2,801 = $1,599 (What is Moscow)

Katelyn Mueller-McLean, today's Jeopardy! winner (for the June 10, 2026 game.)

    Katelyn Mueller-McLean, to win:

    2 games: 21.324%
    3: 4.547%
    4: 0.970%
    5: 0.207%
    6: 0.044%
    Avg. streak: 1.271 games.

    Andy’s Thoughts:

    • Despite all of the low scores, incorrect responses, and Triple Stumper count, no records were set during this game.
    • I really hope the “I love seeing new players and competitive games and hate long-running champions” crowd who is ever-so-vocal online absolutely loved tonight’s game.
    • Assuming a ToC cutoff airdate of December 4, 2026 and a similar field size to this past season, today’s result clinches a bye to the ToC semifinals for Jamie Ding.
    • Today’s J!6 clues can be found at the monthly archive.

    Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:

    (Scores: AJ $4,400 Dan $3,600 Katelyn $3,400)

Dan: You’re in Stratton’s Dilemma, you both can’t bet to cover Katelyn and win a Triple Stumper with AJ. You should either bet at least $3,201 (if covering) or no more than $199 (thereby forcing Katelyn to be correct and make a wager to beat you.) (Actual bet: $807)

AJ: Standard cover bet is $2,801. (Actual bet: $2,801)

Katelyn: Your best strategy here depends on what you think Dan will do. If you think he’ll go big, bet no more than $1,799 to stay ahead of AJ. If you think he’ll go small, bet at least $400. (Actual bet: $0)
