Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category TV Personalities) for Wednesday, June 17, 2026 (Season 42, Game 203):
Perhaps destined for success, she has 1st & last names that are associated with the Hindu goddess of prosperity & good fortune
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Carolyn Bavington, an actuary originally from Highlands Ranch, Colorado
|
Matt Fink, a lawyer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
|
Adam Remsen, an attorney & theater producer from Memphis, Tennessee (3-day total: $57,601)
|
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
Yesterday, Adam Remsen picked up victory #3, which guarantees that he will return in some form in either Champions Wildcard or the Tournament of Champions next season, with this site’s ToC Tracker currently placing Adam’s qualification chances at 62.9%. Today, he faces off against Philadelphia lawyer Matt Fink and actuary Carolyn Bavington, originally from Colorado. Personally, when I see “actuary” as an occupation for a Jeopardy! contestant, it does increase my strategic expectations of that contestant, considering that contestant’s professional expertise.
Interestingly, it appears as if Jeopardy!‘s website went down overnight, which sent me to my backup source for Clue of the Day: today’s New York Times, page C4. Because of that, I have chosen to publish two hours earlier than I usually would.
How much longer will The Jeopardy! Fan be putting episode recaps out for? Certainly, I am definitely feeling the effects of the changing nature of organic web traffic via search in 2026, as is just about every Internet publisher, and I am certainly taking steps to offset the inevitable reduction in traffic. But the next couple of weeks may prove crucial in determining my plans for the coming months and years.

Born in Chennai, India, Padma Lakshmi came to prominence 20 years ago as the host of the Bravo cooking competition Top Chef, and has received 16 Primetime Emmy Award nominations in her career. Prior to that, she had about a 15-year modeling career. Both her first and last name, though, are various names referring to the same Hindu goddess—Lakshmi, the goddess of fortune, wealth, prosperity, beauty, fertility, and abundance.
I found today’s Final to be relatively straightforward myself—we’ll see how others do with it.
