Today, he goes for victory #13 against Richard Nguyen of metro LA and Mandy Moreno of Brooklyn.

A book that has been referred to in clues at least three dozen times in the history of Jeopardy! (at least per my search this morning over at J! Archive), Leon Uris’s book Exodus was also described in that same David Ben-Gurion quote with “As a literary work it isn’t much”. However, the story, a retelling of the ship Exodus, which failed in its attempt to send nearly 4,500 illegal immigrants from France to what was then called Mandatory Palestine in 1947, became one of the biggest bestsellers in the United States of the 1950s.
I feel as though this is going to play easier at home than in studio, generally for “lived experience” reasons.

Richard Nguyen played Adam Remsen very closely through 60 clues, with the two players equal in Coryat Score and only Adam’s correct Daily Double (and Richard going 1-for-2) proving to separate the two players entering Clue 61.
Richard made a Final Jeopardy wager that lowered his chances of victory by somewhere around 15-20%, and was fortunate that he got the exact situation he needed—a clue where he was correct and Adam wasn’t. So, Richard Nguyen is our giant killer, and will get to return tomorrow to defend his title.

Mandy: If both Adam and Richard bet properly, you’re locked into third place. However, Richard’s extremely likely to make the suboptimal wager of $6,401—if you bet at least $3,000, you could snatch second from him if you’re correct and he isn’t. (Actual bet: $0)
