Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Names In Entertainment) for Wednesday, July 1, 2026 (Season 42, Game 213):
Among his numerous accolades are 3 Tonys, 3 Emmys, 5 Grammys & a 2016 Pulitzer Prize
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Ben Crockett, a director of data analytics originally from Laurel, Washington
|
Robyn Masella, a victim advocate from Corvallis, Oregon
|
Richard Nguyen, a research attorney from Placentia, California (1-day total: $20,801)
|
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
For the first time in nearly three weeks, we have a new occupant of the champion’s lectern on the Alex Trebek Stage in Richard Nguyen, who defeated 12-game champion Adam Remsen yesterday. Today, he faces off against Robyn Masella of Corvallis, Oregon and Ben Crockett of Laurel, Washington.
One other interesting thing that we’ve seen over the past few years, since the advent of Second Chance: the longer a giant killer’s run goes, the better the chances are for third place in that “giant killer” game to get a Second Chance invitation, with Mandy Moreno’s chances going up considerably if Richard happens to go on a run here.

Correct response: Who is Lin-Manuel Miranda?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2026 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
Lin-Manuel Miranda, best known for his musical Hamilton, which won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, is also only an Oscar away from an EGOT, having been nominated for Best Original Song twice (from Moana and Encanto).
I think the biggest imagined controversy today is that significant numbers of sources online have understated the number of Emmy Awards that Lin-Manuel Miranda has won, including an AI hallucination that does the same. While LMM is best known for his Primetime Emmy in 2021 for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for Hamilton and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics (“Bigger” from the 67th Tony Awards), LMM does in fact have a third Emmy: We The People won the Children’s and Family Emmy Award in 2022. (And if you try to tell anyone in the industry that it only counts unless it’s Primetime or Daytime—you are going to have an argument on your hands. As someone with friends who treasure their local Emmy Awards—it absolutely counts.)
Also, I definitely think that the most common incorrect response here is going to be Kendrick Lamar, who does have a Pulitzer as well—but his was in 2018.
