We began with 27; after nine quarterfinals, we are now at nine semi-finalists in the 2023 High School Reunion tournament. One of these nine players will win $100,000 and a Tournament of Champions berth. I’m very much looking forward to the next five games!

Avi Gupta on Jeopardy!

Avi Gupta

Average Coryat: $14,960

Predictions:
36.931% to win semifinal 14.244% to win tournament

Andy’s Thoughts: We saw a tiebreaker clue the last time Jackson met Avi in a semifinal. Will we see another tiebreaker clue today? Rematches like this are historically very rare on the show, which makes this matchup all the more intriguing. I’m expecting to see a very tightly contested match with this semi.

Monday, March 6:

Justin Bolsen on Jeopardy!

Justin Bolsen
First-year student at Brown University
Canton, Georgia
61 correct, 8 incorrect
3/4 on rebound attempts (on 13 rebound opportunities)

Stephanie Pierson on Jeopardy!

Stephanie Pierson

Claire Sattler on Jeopardy!

Claire Sattler
Senior at Yale University
Bonita Springs, Florida
99 correct, 15 incorrect
8/9 on rebound attempts (on 21 rebound opportunities)
33.45% in first on buzzer (94/281)
5/6 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $8,000)
4/5 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $14,720

Predictions:
32.959% to win semifinal 9.679% to win tournament

Andy’s Thoughts: I could make a compelling case for all three players to win today. Justin had a very strong quarterfinal. Stephanie has definitely grasped the strategy needed to win—and she demonstrated that with her win in the quarterfinals. Claire always seems to find a way to win when it matters. In his first appearance, Justin had a weak semifinal—if he plays like he does in the quarterfinals, I think he has the best chance of winning. If he doesn’t, though—anything can happen.

Tuesday, March 7:

Caleb Richmond on Jeopardy!

Caleb Richmond
Sophomore at Georgetown University
Bedford, New Hampshire
67 correct, 9 incorrect
2/3 on rebound attempts (on 7 rebound opportunities)
37.43% in first on buzzer (64/171)
3/6 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $1,018)

Maya Wright on Jeopardy!

Maya Wright

Peachtree City, Georgia
110 correct, 10 incorrect
7/8 on rebound attempts (on 16 rebound opportunities)
36.65% in first on buzzer (103/281)
4/4 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $5,800)
3/5 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $15,240

Predictions:
29.075% to win semifinal 8.609% to win tournament

Tim Cho on Jeopardy!

Tim Cho
Senior at Columbia University
Champaign, Illinois
70 correct, 9 incorrect
2/2 on rebound attempts (on 6 rebound opportunities)
39.77% in first on buzzer (68/171)
4/6 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $4,400)
3/3 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $16,933

Predictions:
35.484% to win semifinal 12.629% to win tournament

Andy’s Thoughts: For better or worse, Caleb is probably an even more Jekyll-and-Hyde player than Justin is. Last time around, Caleb also torched the quarterfinal but flamed out in the semis. If that happens again, this is anyone’s game. If he plays as he does in the quarterfinals, though—watch out.
