After a couple of weeks off, we are now on to the semifinals of Season 3 of Celebrity Jeopardy. Here are your nine players:

Wednesday, April 2, 2025

Margaret Cho
San Francisco, California

Margaret Cho on Celebrity Jeopardy!

42 correct, 6 incorrect
3/3 on rebound attempts (on 8 rebound opportunities)
48.81% in first on buzzer (41/84)
3/3 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $28,500)
1/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $21,900

Margaret put up the performance of the season in the quarterfinals, picking up 42 correct and $28,500 on the Daily Doubles on January 22 against Seth Green and Rachel Brosnahan.

Jackie Tohn
Oceanside, New York

Jackie Tohn on Celebrity Jeopardy!

15 correct, 0 incorrect
0/0 on rebound attempts (on 3 rebound opportunities)
15.48% in first on buzzer (13/84)
1/1 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $500)
1/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $7,900

Jackie was in third place going into Final Jeopardy on January 15, but a singleton get in Final Jeopardy meant she’s in the semis instead of Melissa Peterman or Neil deGrasse Tyson.

W. Kamau Bell
Chicago, Illinois

W. Kamau Bell on Celebrity Jeopardy!

34 correct, 8 incorrect
0/0 on rebound attempts (on 2 rebound opportunities)
45.24% in first on buzzer (38/84)
2/3 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: -$795)
0/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $16,300

Kamau won the opening game of the season back on January 8, picking up 34 correct responses against Max Greenfield and Camilla Luddington.

Overall Thoughts: Most people, I think, would put Margaret as the favorite here on paper. But that’s no guarantee of success. All three of these players have won a game–and what happens if Margaret gets a clue incorrect at an inopportune time?

36.90% in first on buzzer (31/84)
2/2 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $4,400)

Robin dominated her quarterfinal on February 12, picking up 35 correct responses and having a strong runaway victory.

Natalie Morales
Miami, Florida

0/1 on rebound attempts (on 4 rebound opportunities)
33.33% in first on buzzer (28/84)
1/2 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: -$100)
1/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $13,600

Natalie emerged from a very competitive quarterfinal on February 5 over Chris Distefano and Corbin Bleu; all three players were in five figures going into Final Jeopardy.

Roy Wood, Jr.
Birmingham, Alabama

Roy Wood Jr. on Celebrity Jeopardy!

27 correct, 10 incorrect
5/6 on rebound attempts (on 8 rebound opportunities)
32.14% in first on buzzer (27/84)
1/3 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $500)
1/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $13,600

Roy defeated Brian Jordan Alvarez and Phoebe Robinson on January 29 after being the only player to get Final Jeopardy correct in his quarterfinal.

Overall Thoughts: The stats do say that Robin is the favorite in this matchup, but all three of these players are pretty good at Jeopardy; I wouldn’t be shocked if this game was a close one.

3/4 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $3,800)
0/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $18,300

Mina won on March 12 in a runaway over Omar J. Dorsey and Fortune Feimster.

Sean Gunn
Manchester, Missouri

Sean Gunn on Celebrity Jeopardy!

39 correct, 7 incorrect
5/5 on rebound attempts (on 8 rebound opportunities)
44.05% in first on buzzer (37/84)
2/3 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $1,900)
0/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $22,100

Sean defeated D’Arcy Carden and Sherry Cola in a runaway on March 5.

Dave Friedberg
Cape Town, South Africa

Dave Friedberg on Celebrity Jeopardy!

31 correct, 4 incorrect
1/1 on rebound attempts (on 8 rebound opportunities)
35.71% in first on buzzer (30/84)
1/3 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: -$600)
0/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $15,800

People were surprised that I didn’t rate Dave higher coming into this tournament; while Dave’s strategy is generally on point, the fact that the Celebrity game tends to lean more towards material that comes via osmosis to the average American might still prove to work to Dave’s disadvantage. Dave is a semifinalist, though, having defeated Ana Navarro and Yvette Nicole Brown on February 26.

Overall Thoughts: This is definitely the strongest and most evenly-matched semifinal of the three, in my opinion—I think it will come down to the seven betting clues. Mina did the best on those in the quarterfinals, and as much as it might annoy some, I think this is still a “pick’em” matchup, in betting parlance.
