Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

After the massive upset in last week’s game, Simu Liu sees himself in the first semifinal on October 16! This week sees Eddie Huang, Reggie Watts, and Iliza Shlesinger take to the stage to do battle in the second quarterfinal.

One thing that I’ve definitely noticed: a lot of people, predominantly older viewers, are flabbergasted that there might be celebrities that they haven’t heard of. To those viewers: I hate to tell you this, but the world doesn’t revolve around your knowledge base; there will be celebrities you haven’t heard of. And that’s okay. Insisting that the show pick people who have only been relevant for thirty years is not going to lead to a particularly interesting group of games, in my opinion.

I also would like to point out that I think the show has done a really good job of balancing various factors. Three rounds are perfect for a celebrity game as it both allows the celebrities to have fun and vamp, while also getting all of the clues finished for the home viewers. It’s also my belief that a number of fans have come into this show with unrealistic expectations.

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they can, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • Celebrity Jeopardy! has been played like this for over 30 years. What we’re seeing is no surprise to me. Some fans have given themselves unrealistic expectations regarding the show, and I would suggest that these fans try to lighten up a bit.
  • While I’m covering this like normal shows, I’m also finding myself entertained—once I realized I needed to lighten up.
  • Today’s box score: October 2, 2022 Celebrity Jeopardy! Box Score.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
