Today’s Celebrity Jeopardy! contestants:
Matt Rogers, the co-host of the “Las Culturistas” podcast and an actor from “I Love That For you”, playing for Story Pirates Changemakers
John Michael Higgins, the host of “America Says” and an actor, playing for Actors’ Equity Foundation
Aisha Tyler, the host of “Whose Line is it Anyway” and previous Celebrity Jeopardy! champion, playing for Planned Parenthood
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
It’s time for the second set of nine celebrities in the 2022–23 Celebrity Jeopardy! competition. Today sees Aisha Tyler, John Michael Higgins, and Matt Rogers take part; next Sunday will see Troian Bellisario, Wil Wheaton, and Hasan Minhaj, while November 6 will see Ray Romano, Joel Kim Booster, and Melissa Rauch.
Of today’s set, Aisha Tyler has taken part twice in the past on Celebrity Jeopardy!; she defeated Tom Bergeron and Elizabeth Perkins in 2009, while she and Anderson Cooper lost to Cheech Marin (one of the all-time greats of Celebrity Jeopardy) in 2010. I would say that Aisha’s past experience on the show will put her as the favorite to win tonight’s game. But, as we saw with Andy Richter four weeks ago: anything can happen.
Additionally, Aisha is playing tonight for Planned Parenthood; many fan community members are taking 7-time champion Josh Hill’s lead and donating $1 per correct response given by Aisha on tonight’s show.
Something to look out for: Ryan Long tweeted out in the last couple of hours that tonight’s game will feature an AROUND PHILLY WITH RYAN LONG category; the latest in a set of categories presented by civilian Jeopardy! celebrities.
On a more personal note, it is the time of year for the twice-yearly Gamers vs. MS 168-hour online fundraiser! 24 different Twitch streamers will be live between 8 AM Eastern on October 22 and 8 AM Eastern on October 29, raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. Canada has one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world, with an estimated 1 in every 385 Canadians living with the disease. I’ll be streaming live on my Twitch channel, twitch.tv/thejeopardyfan/ from 2 AM Eastern–8 AM Eastern on October 25! You can find more information about this fall’s relay at https://www.gamersvsms.ca/
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they can, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.
