Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:

A new week of UK Jeopardy! begins today with Dan Afshar defending his title against Cornwall’s Kit Chapman and Berkshire’s Laura Binnie.

A couple of important notes on the scheduling front this week: Firstly, for the North Americans following things, the United Kingdom moved to British Summer Time over the weekend—that means that the show will be airing at 10:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time for the rest of the series. Secondly, no episode will be airing either Thursday or Friday this week due to ITV’s coverage of the Grand National Festival.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:

(Scores: Dan £3,150 Kit £1,725 Laura £300)

Dan: Standard cover bet is £301. (Actual bet: £450)

Laura: In the battle for second, I would bet nothing here—a common bet from second is to pass the leader’s pre-Final score by £1; if Kit does that, he’d fall to £299 if incorrect. (Actual bet: £300)

Kit: If Dan makes the cover bet here, the amount to pass him is £1,125—the exact amount that keeps Laura locked out for secopnd. Thus, bet exactly £1,125. (Actual bet: £1,725)
