Michael Hutchinson, a maths teacher from Reading (4-day total: £23,926)

Michael Hutchinson on Jeopardy! UK

Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:

Today, Michael Hutchinson, the Reading maths teacher, attempts to win his 5th game; if he does win, he would become the first player in this UK version of the show to win five. In his four games, he’s already won £23,926—£4,425 more than Keshava Guha, the show’s first 4-time winner. However, today’s challengers Asha Chumber and Dan Adler want to stop Michael from winning money and win some themselves! Interestingly, Dan does have a known history of being a strong quizzer, so Michael might have his work cut out for him today!

This brings me to one point of clarification for our new UK viewers: the winner of each game wins their total score at the end of the game, and can return as long as they keep winning. So, regardless of what happens, Michael will win at least £23,926; that money can’t be taken from him at this point.

Another reminder that I have started a Sunday mailbag column where I answer fan & viewer questions regarding the show. If you have a question, feel free to send it to mailbag@thejeopardyfan.com!
