Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
As of right now, James Hirsh is a 2-game champion and may or may not be selected for Champions Wildcard in the winter of 2027. However, a third victory would at least make sure we definitely see him again, while a good-sized win will give James an excellent chance of being seen in the Tournament of Champions. That said, Patrick Creech of North Carolina and Elizabeth Hurd of Michigan will want to stop him.
One thing I want to bring up this morning as well: Jeopardy! “fans” on Facebook, many of whom still refer to the Daily Double as a “Double Jeopardy” and sounding like Garo Yepremian running off the field going “I kick a touchdown!”, are continuing their confident, incorrect opinions when it comes to Jeopardy! strategy and their thoughts on yesterday’s game. I can safely say that if circumstances change enough and I ever end up as a contestant on the show, I sincerely hope that I get to face many of those Facebook commenters as challengers.

More Information About Final Jeopardy!:
A.A. Milne’s beloved character Winnie-the-Pooh got his name from Christopher Robin’s teddy bear, whose own name was inspired by a small black bear named Winnie, named as her former owner, Harry Colebourn, hailed from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Colebourn was headed to Europe in World War I; Winnie was the mascot of the Canadian Army Veterinary Corps; they donated the bear to the London Zoo when called into battle in France.
This Final is probably about as much as in a Canadian’s wheelhouse as it can be; this exact story was the subject of a Canadian Heritage Minute PSA in the early 1990s.
