I would like to mention that I have made some adjustments to my “Top 50 Players” section; a number of players have been added. Basically, at this point, the list will always contain the top 50 players still currently eligible to play, any player who has won at least 4 games in the current Tournament of Champions cycle, and anyone who has clinched a spot in either the next Tournament of Champions or Jeopardy! Masters. (Currently, that means the list contains 62 players.)

Final Jeopardy! Category: Opera Characters

Final Jeopardy! Clue: Her aria “Un bel dì, vedremo” says, “One fine day we will see…a strand of smoke over the far horizon…& then the ship appears”

In order to redesign our merchandise area to serve you better in 2026, all merchandise sales have been temporarily taken offline. Look for a return in late 2026! All previous orders will still be supported.

Correct response: Who is Cio-Cio San? (from Madama Butterfly)

More Information About Final Jeopardy!:

One of the most famous soprano arias and most famous from Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, “Un bel dì, vedremo” features Cio-Cio San imagining the return of her husband, the American naval officer, B.F. Pinkerton to Japan.

Opera-related Final Jeopardy! clues are interesting; on the one hand, the show can only go so deep in regular play. On the other, opera and sports are probably the two categories where contestants are most likely to make incredibly conservative bets in Final, so we might see some interesting strategies today.
