Correct response: What is The Red Badge of Courage?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
Author Stephen Crane was born in November 1871, more than six years after the conclusion of the U.S. Civil War, but still wrote the 1895 book The Red Badge of Courage, about a young private (Henry Fleming) who fled from a battle and was so ashamed that he felt the need to seek out a “red badge of courage”, that being a war wound. The work received high praise from Civil War writer Bierce, who also said “Most beginners who deal with this subject spatter themselves merely with ink”.

- Another champion has done really well on Day 1 and had a drop-off on Day 2. It’s clear that my prediction model needs adjusting.
- If it’s possible to look on the bright side of this: at least I’m not going to have conflicted loyalties when it comes to Wednesday’s episode!
- Effective in first on buzzer stats: Jill 40.82% (20/49), Steve-O 46.94% (23/49), Saurabh 12.24% (6/49).
- The “Portions of the program not affecting the outcome of the competition have been edited” disclaimer was shown during the credits. Does this mean CELEBRITIES $1000 was played in-studio, was a stand-and-stare, and cut out? It sounded like an edit to me. That disclaimer doesn’t usually play.
