The first two weeks were the 10 “Alex Around the World” episodes that ran in his memory in late December; the 2021 Tournament of Champions, hosted by Buzzy Cohen, will air from August 30 through September 10. Today’s episode was the first quarterfinal of the 2021 Tournament of Champions that originally aired on May 17, 2021.

Draco was an early Athenian lawmaker, believed to be the first recorded legislator in Athenian history. He is best known today as giving his name to the adjective “draconian”, referring to harsh or unforgiving rules or punishments; in Draco’s code, many offences, large or small, were punishable by death.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- The actions of Jeopardy! “fans” when it came to reactions towards Ryan when this game originally aired back in May on the Internet were reprehensible, and a number of you need to chill out quite a bit. The Tournament of Champions is a higher-stakes, more intense version of the regular games and the visceral reactions seen by some of these so-called Jeopardy! fans at contestants for matching that intensity is completely inappropriate and uncalled for. If I may make a suggestion that may serve a number of people well: you do not need to post every single last thought that comes into your head on the Internet for all to see. There are some things much better left said where only one or two people at maximum can hear them, and some of your thoughts on Jeopardy! contestants would definitely fall into that category.
- I agree with both Sarah and Jason’s bets; being that an incorrect response likely eliminates them anyway, the best play would be to go all-in in this situation.
