In today’s final game of Fall 2023’s Champions Wildcard, Tyler Vandenberg holds the lead, having doubled up in Final Jeopardy on Friday. However, his lead is absolutely not insurmountable. If Yungsheng leads Tyler by more than $4,800 going into Final (or Gary leads Tyler by more than $5,800), someone other than Tyler will have the advantage going into the final clue today. And Yungsheng, despite his very strong play over the tournament, is long overdue for finding a Daily Double! The way things have gone, this is still absolutely anybody’s match!
And I do think I need to mention this, in case you’ve been living under a rock this weekend: Ken Jennings will be hosting every Season 40 episode, after Mayim Bialik’s departure was announced on Friday.

It’s a darn shame that the Breitbart crowd is already vowing not to watch over Friday’s news. (Like they were watching the show anyway.) They could have learned something today!
On June 28, 1969, a police raid at 53 Christopher Street in Greenwich Village, the location of the Stonewall Inn, an LGBTQ establishment, was the impetus for a massive resistance by New York’s LGBTQ+ community. For years, the police in New York had routinely harassed the LGBTQ+ community, and the Stonewall raid was the last straw. Led by drag queen Marsha P. Johnson, the community fought back, and the raid led to lasting political action in the American LGBTQ rights movement. Pride celebrations throughout the United States and the world now often take place on or about June 28 in honor of Stonewall.
In 2016, the Stonewall National Monument became the United States’ first national monument for an LGBTQ historic site. Visitors worldwide can experience the monument virtually at Stonewall Forever.
This is going to be an incredibly easy Final Jeopardy clue for anyone in LearnedLeague, as last Wednesday, the following question was posed: “Identify the business establishment located at 53 Christopher Street in New York’s Greenwich Village that was named a National Historic Landmark in 2020 and is at the site of a US national monument designated as such in 2016.” And, in case you’re wondering, the two contestants in today’s game who are also in LearnedLeague got the question correct in LL (the second time around for them).
