Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame) for Monday, July 25, 2022 (Season 38, Game 226):
Honored in 1998 as part of a rock group & in 2019 as a solo artist, this singer was the first woman to be inducted into the Hall twice
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s contestants:
Angela Xu, a corporate lawyer from San Mateo, California
Ed Coulson, an economics & real estate professor from Dana Point, California
Karla Fossett, a content administrator from Saco, Maine (1-day total: $16,600)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
As we enter the season’s final week, Karla Fossett—who played a strong game on Friday—returns as champion. Interestingly, with how the standings look, Karla would be the only player with a chance of qualifying inside the Top 15 for November’s Tournament of Champions. Today’s challengers are Ed Coulson and Angela Xu.
A number of people are starting to become surprised at the fact that Jeopardy! has still yet to announce (at least as of the time of publication Monday morning of this section of the article) who will be hosting next season. As far as I know here at The Jeopardy! Fan, the upcoming host has been asked to ensure taping availability, which means I still believe than an official announcement is imminent. (I have articles drafted and ready to go, awaiting the announcment).
Also, the schedule of encore presentations for the six weeks following this week have started to appear on TV program guides throughout North America. It appears the show will highlight 30 of this season’s most memorable games as a “season in review” of sorts. I wouldn’t use the game selection as a clue as to “Second Chance Tournament” invitations.
On a more personal note: For the past two and a half years, I have often raised money for the MS Society of Canada through their “Gamers vs. MS” program. This July, Gamers vs. MS is running a month-long fundraising campaign called “Boss Battles.” In an attempt to raise $25,000, the Gamers vs. MS team has designed a “fundraising adventure” to defeat eight evil bosses. (Much like a Mario game might have eight bosses to defeat.) You can get more information about the program at https://www.gamersvsms.ca/bossbattles, and if you’d like to donate, you can do so via Tiltify!. I’ll be live-streaming myself on my Twitch channel, twitch.tv/TheJeopardyFan/ beginning at 6:30 PM Eastern on Tuesday, July 26.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they can, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Twenty-six people have been inducted multiple times into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but only three women: Tina Turner, Carole King, and Stevie Nicks. Nicks was the first of the three, inducted with Fleetwood Mac in 1988 and for her solo career in 2019.

Ed definitely had the best time in Double Jeopardy, picking up 11 correct (and a Daily Double). Karla got to a Daily Double as well, but unfortunately for her, didn’t have an “aha moment” in CELEBRITY CATCHPHRASES, and lost $4,000 and fell out of contention going into Final. Angela played well enough to keep things from being a runaway, though. Scores going into the final question were Ed at $18,700, Angela at $10,000, and Karla at $7,000.
Statistics after Double Jeopardy:
Ed 22 correct 2 incorrect
Angela 14 correct 2 incorrect
Karla 14 correct 2 incorrect
Total number of unplayed clues this season: 83 (0 today).
Final Jeopardy! today was a Triple Stumper; Ed only bet $1,301 and became Jeopardy! champion! He’ll return tomorrow.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: Ed $18,700 Angela $10,000 Karla $7,000)
Karla: Not really much you can do today for a win unless Ed overbets. However, you could get second place if you stay above $2,601. I would bet no more than $4,399.(Actual bet: $7,000)
Ed: Standard cover bet over Angela is $1,301. (Actual bet: $1,301)
Angela: If Ed bets to cover and misses, he falls to $17,399. Your minimum bet today should be $7,401. (Actual bet: $7,399)
