Correct response: What is Buffalo, New York?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
Buffalo, New York gained the nickname “City of Light” due to its early embrace of using electric lighting. (Having Niagara Falls and its massive hydroelectric power generation capability only 16 miles away certainly helps with that!) Due to its position at the time as a technological hub, it was chosen as the site as the 1901 Pan-American Exposition, which ran from May to early November of that year. Unfortunately, the events of September 6 of that year overshadowed that; anarchist Leon Czolgosz assassinated President William McKinley at the Exposition; the wounds turned gangrenous and McKinley died on September 14.
Since Alex Trebek’s diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer, many community members have been raising money. The Jeopardy! Fan Online Store is as well! All proceeds from any “Keep The Faith And We’ll Win” shirt sold will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. To date, over $440 has been raised.)
In order to redesign our merchandise area to serve you better in 2026, all merchandise sales have been temporarily taken offline. Look for a return in late 2026! All previous orders will still be supported.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- Before anyone accuses the three players of not knowing Tom Hanks (the BIOPICS $200 clue), it has been reported by audience members from this game that the lights on the signaling system malfunctioned (failed to activate properly) and the contestants were unable to buzz in. Since the judges determined that no one player was advantaged or disadvantaged, it was ruled as “no harm, no foul”, and the game would continue without a clue replacement.
It would not surprise me if, in order to make sure we saw all 61 clues tonight, that some of the responses were clipped slightly in order to fit everything in. Note that any complaints regarding phrasing here on The Jeopardy! Fan are considered against the Site Comment Policy, as the judges have the ability to listen to responses very closely that we at home do not.
