Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category British Writers) for Thursday, January 21, 2021 (Season 37, Game 84):

When Agatha Christie disappeared for 11 days in 1926, this British fellow writer tried to find her with the help of a spiritual medium

(correct response beneath the contestants)

As I said in my recent editorial, if you’re going to express an opinion about one host or another, I ask that you make thoughtful, reasoned arguments. A lot of your opinions on one host over another are going to be a matter of personal taste. Please also remember that a permanent host will not be named until the start of Season 38.

Today’s contestants:

Stephanie Thompson, a PR specialist from San Diego, California

Stephanie Thompson on Jeopardy!

Robert Ortega Jr., a civilian investigator from Alhambra, California

Robert Ortega Jr. on Jeopardy!

Brian Chang, an attorney from Chicago, Illinois (2-day total: $34,202)

Brian Chang on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: Brian has had two strong performances thus far. Fatigue may start to set in, though, as it always does for champs going into their third or fourth games of a day. Will Robert or Stephanie be up to the task?

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to abide by physical distancing guidelines and when you are not able to do so, properly wear a mask. Ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

More information about Final Jeopardy: (The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2020 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)

In December 1926, famed mystery writer Agatha Christie disappeared. While she was found 11 days after her December 3 disappearance, the intervening period was a sensational time for the English press, as the country made every effort to find her. In all of the hubbub, noted author (and occultist) Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (the famed author of the Sherlock Holmes stories) took one of Christie’s gloves to a medium in an attempt to help find her. Christie’s autobiography makes no mention of this disappearance and many of its circumstances remain a mystery to this day.
