Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Broadway Cast Albums) for Thursday, June 12, 2025 (Season 41, Game 199):
In 2024, 21 years after it was first released, the original cast album for this show made the Top 40 for the first time
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Sean Addie, an attorney originally from Cannon Falls, Minnesota
Josh Prohofsky, a marketer from Jacksonville, Florida
Matt Massie, an attorney originally from South Charleston, West Virginia (2-day total: $58,000)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
Matt Massie has been a very strong player of Jeopardy! over his first two victories, picking up an average of $29,000 an episode. He’s also been in the low 40s in terms of attempts—very strong numbers for 2025. At 2 wins and $58,000, it does seem very likely that we’ll be seeing him in postseason play at the very least, but I’m sure Matt would rather join past West Virginians Bob Fleenor and John Krizel in qualifying for the Tournament of Champions. Today’s challengers are Florida’s Josh Prohofsky and Minnesota’s Sean Addie.
On a more personal note: I received a serious offer a few months back from someone to purchase The Jeopardy! Fan. I decided not to accept the offer, chiefly because I didn’t have an answer to the question of “What’s next?” So, it seems very likely at this point that I am going to continue to operate The Jeopardy! Fan through Season 42 at the very least. But I’d be lying if I wasn’t at least looking for an answer to the question of “What do I do when I am no longer operating this website?” I certainly don’t have enough money to retire!
For those who watch on NBC during the day, U.S. Open golf coverage tomorrow on NBC is causing pre-emptions; Matt Carberry’s Google sheet is available for consultation, or check local listings. It should be noted that while the game is airing in Minot/Bismarck, ND at 7:30 AM Central tomorrow (8:30 AM Eastern), it is airing on a digital subchannel that I don’t think is going to be accessible to anyone online.

The original cast album of 2003’s Wicked reached the higher end of the Billboard charts for the first time in 2024 due to the overwhelming interest in the 2024 film version, directed by Jon Chu and starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
I thought this was a relatively straightforward Final Jeopardy clue, even as someone who isn’t usually that great on Broadway-related clues. For me, the path in was “What would cause an original cast album to become suddenly popular again?”—and from there, the path was simple.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- Keith Williams would not be happy with Matt’s Final Jeopardy wager.
- Today’s box score will be linked to when posted by the show.
Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: Matt $18,800 Sean $9,871 Josh $8,200)
Matt: Standard cover bet is $943. Whatever you do, don’t bet any more than $2,399; that brings Josh back into contention unnecessarily. (Actual bet: $3,000)
Josh: Bet between $0 and $6,315 and hope Sean misses final. (Actual bet: $3,000)
Sean: To have any chance of victory, bet at least $7.987. However, because your score is weird, you could go all in here to force Matt to do the math right. (Actual bet: $9,871)
