The G.I. Joe Adventure Team—which included Air Adventurer, Land Adventurer, Sea Adventurer, Adventurer, and Adventure Team Commander, among others—was introduced by Hasbro in 1970 as anti-Vietnam sentiment in the late 1960s had caused sales of the original G.I. Joe action figure to fall significantly in 1968. The line was a big hit, with 1972 seeing the highest total sales.

Game Recap:

Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: Playing “Card”s; Kings & Queens; Clubs; Jokers; 3 Of A Kind; I Got A Strait)

The two challengers, Kate and Jeff, had the best time during the opening round today. Sri’s struggles started with an incorrect response on the opening clue, and he only gave 4 correct responses following that. Even missing a Daily Double didn’t keep Jeff from holding the lead.

Statistics at the first break (15 clues):

Kate 6 correct 1 incorrect
Jeff 4 correct 0 incorrect
Sri 3 correct 1 incorrect

Statistics after the Jeopardy round:

Jeff 13 correct 1 incorrect
Kate 10 correct 1 incorrect
Sri 4 correct 1 incorrect

Double Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: Florist’s Reading List; I Helped In The 17th Century; States & Symbols; Computer History; Classic Albums; Double Meanings)

Jeff and Kate continued their strong play; unfortunately for Jeff, he dropped $3,000 on the first Daily Double in this round. While turning it around wouldn’t have given him a runaway, it certainly made the game close going into the final question! Scores going into Final Jeopardy were Jeff at $17,200, Kate at $14,200, and Sri at $8,800.

Statistics after Double Jeopardy:

Jeff 25 correct 3 incorrect
Kate 19 correct 1 incorrect
Sri 10 correct 1 incorrect
Total number of unplayed clues this season: 4 (0 today).

Kate was the only correct player today, which means that she became Jeopardy! champion! Of course, Jeff has been invited back for the Second Chance Tournament!

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:

(Scores: Jeff $17,200 Kate $14,200 Sri $8,800)

Sri: If Jeff and Kate both make standard cover bets and are incorrect, they fall to $5,999 and $10,799, respectively. Thus, your bet range must be between $2,001 and $2,800. Anything else significantly reduces your chances of winning. (Actual bet: $1,200)

Kate: Standard over bet over Sri is $3,401. (Actual bet: $5,800)

Jeff: Standard cover bet over Kate is $11,201. (Actual bet: $11,800)
