Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Literary Groups) for Tuesday, May 30, 2023 (Season 39, Game 187):
Windermere, Thirlmere & Grasmere are 3 of the sites that helped give a 19th century literary group this name
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Nathan Dennis, a C-17 loadmaster from Charlotte, North Carolina
Ilhana Redzovic, an investment associate from Chicago, Illinois
Diandra D’Alessio, a technical writer from Montreal, Quebec, Canada (2-day total: $15,700)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
No, Jeopardy! is not in reruns, as much as some Facebook commenters have believed, thanks to the partial operability of the Jeopardy! website as it stands right now. Last night’s boxscore has yet to be posted, and we are on Day 2 of having zero contestant information on the website. Thus, once again, Jeopardy! fans looking for information on the day’s contestants are stuck looking at the closing “preview” at the end of yesterday’s games. (And, of course, the fact that other outlets have failed to find or use this information is another reason why I am led to believe that my work is being stolen—because if those other outlets actually watched the entire show, they would have this information already.)
In any case, 2-day champion Diandra D’Alessio of Montreal takes on Chicago’s Ilhana Redzovic & Charlotte’s Nathan Dennis.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they can, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Correct response: Who are the Lake Poets?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2023 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
With its most famous members being William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Robert Southey, the Lake Poets are a famed group of 19th-century poets who all lived in the Lake District in England. Wordsworth was arguably the poet whose poetic vision was most influenced by the area’s landscape; Coleridge and Southey, while living in the area, both had differing viewpoints from Wordsworth.
Interestingly, this was an easier Final Jeopardy! for me, if only because this group was in my head from having discounted the Lake Poets on a recent LearnedLeague question about the Graveyard Poets.

- I personally prefer players who make an effort to try win the game, and not bet numbers that are inside jokes to one’s friends and/or coworkers.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: Ilhana $21,000 Nathan $10,756 Diandra $7,200)
Diandra: Limit your bet to $6,175; this way, you have the best chance of staying ahead of Nathan if he’s incorrect. (Actual bet: $7,199)
Ilhana: Standard cover bet over Nathan is $513. (Actual bet: $600)
Nathan: You have to bet at least $9,733 to have any chance of winning today. (Actual bet: $3,745)
