Good morning and Happy Wednesday! Today is Day #8 of Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s hosting stint. Through 7 days, $139,558 has been donated to Odyssey Atlanta. Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Rock Bands) for Wednesday, July 7, 2021 (Season 37, Game 203):

In 2017 this band whose singer goes by a nickname became the first to have No. 1 albums in the U.S. in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s & 2010s

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s contestants:

Keshav Shah, a graduate student from Atlanta, Georgia

Keshav Shah on Jeopardy!

Nikole Villanueva, a direct service provider from Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Nikole Villanueva on Jeopardy!

Courtney Shah, a community college instructor from Portland, Oregon (7-day total: $118,558)

Courtney Shah on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: Yesterday, Courtney became only the 30th player in Jeopardy! history to win 7 games. If she wins today, she becomes the 20th to win 8. Despite this, there are still some viewers who don’t quite seem to grasp that a win is a win, and that they all count the same on the scoreboard. Yes, luck plays a part in Jeopardy!, but that doesn’t mean that it’s at all appropriate for people to display animus toward others because of that.

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to. When wearing a mask, ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.
