Happy Wednesday! Meaning, I’m sure we’ll be seeing the GEICO clue referencing Hump Day on the show today. Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Classic Albums) for Wednesday, May 5, 2021 (Season 37, Game 158):
The title of this huge hit 1977 album was the idea of the bass player, who specified it should be spelled the British way
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s contestants:
Jamie Logan, a writer & consultant from Augusta, Maine
Elliott Goodman, a history & Latin teacher from Culver City, California
Hanna Howard, an editor from New York, New York (1-day total: $20,600)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: “Live by the Daily Double, die by the Daily Double”. Emily likely would have won Game #4 yesterday had she gotten the final Daily Double correct. However, she did not, and Hanna’s excellent play was more than enough to claim the spoils of victory: over $20,000 and the opportunity to play again. This should be a good game today as she takes on Elliott and Jamie in her title defense.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to. When wearing a mask, ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Correct response: What is Rumours?
More information about Final Jeopardy: (The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2021 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
Rumours is Fleetwood Mac’s smash hit 1977 album whose title was spelled the British way because Fleetwood Mac originated in the United Kingdom (though the band was living in California by the mid-1970s when the album was conceived.) The album is best known today for its singles “Go Your Own Way”, “Dreams”, and “Don’t Stop”. The album was Billboard’s #1 album of 1977. Bassist John McVie suggested the title; the band agreed because it felt everyone in the music industry, whether informed or not, was talking about the band.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- Thus far, $81,399 has been donated by Jeopardy! to Media Fellowship House. $1,073,526 has ben donated to all charities thus far.
Elliott’s reaction during Final Jeopardy! led me to believe that he had in fact bet enough. I also very much liked Jamie’s larger bet. Today’s game saw a betting scenario known as the Faith Love scenario as 1st place’s score ($16,800) is double the difference between 2nd and 3rd ($16,200 – $7,800 = $8,400). Thus, due to the numbers, Elliott does have occasion to bet $0, thinking that Jamie might choose to keep Hanna locked out. Of course, being that Elliott now has occasion to bet very small, Jamie could go very large, and that’s exactly what happened.
