Originally a racehorse in the few years after his birth, Copenhagen became the trusty steed of the Duke of Wellington, the victor in 1815’s Battle of Waterloo over Napoleon. Given a hero’s welcome upon their return, Regency-era fashion often contained jewelry fashioned out of strands of Copenhagen’s hair. He was named after the 1807 Battle of Copenhagen, where England attacked and destroyed the then-neutral Danish navy as Denmark was planning on allying with France; England wanted to render the Danish navy useless to France.

Game Recap:

This game saw one of Alex DeFrank’s more dominant victories once we got to the end of the Double Jeopardy! Round; Alex had picked up $14,000 on the Daily Doubles en route to $37,400 entering Final Jeopardy. That being said, as the game itself progressed, it looked like things might possibly go Adam’s way after Alex decided not to start hunting for DD3 immediately. Eventually, Adam thought DD3 was in the embassy category, while Alex’s gut feeling about it being in Olympic Host City Attractions ended up being correct—Alex’s $6,000 correct response there proved to be the important money in cementing the runaway game.

Alex having that runaway was incredibly important as well, as Adam was the only player to come up with the Duke of Wellington in Final Jeopardy. That gave Alex victory #4; next week, Alex faces off against Hillary Hess and Cameron Berry in an attempt to pick up victory #5.

Scores going into Final:

Alex $37,400
Adam $13,000
Ann $6,000

Tonight’s results:

Ann $6,000 – $0 = $6,000 (Who is)
Adam $13,000 + $0 = $13,000 (Who is the Duke of Wellington?)
Alex $37,400 – $10,600 = $26,800 (Who is Trafalgar? Love you Ashley) (4-day total: $102,400)

Alex DeFrank, today's Jeopardy! winner (for the July 25-26, 2026 game.)

Game Stats:

Alex $27,600 Coryat, 32 correct, 2 incorrect, 54.39% in first on buzzer (31/57), 0/0 on rebound attempts (on 3 rebound opportunities)
Adam $13,000 Coryat, 15 correct, 1 incorrect, 24.56% in first on buzzer (14/57), 2/2 on rebound attempts (on 4 rebound opportunities)
Ann $6,000 Coryat, 9 correct, 2 incorrect, 19.30% in first on buzzer (11/57), 0/0 on rebound attempts (on 3 rebound opportunities)
Combined Coryat Score: $46,600
