Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:
The final game of our Five-Game Wednesday this week is a Celebrity Jeopardy matchup between Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, House of Cards), Seth Green (a multitude of roles over the past 40 years), and stand-up comedian and actress Margaret Cho. Seth Green does have past Jeopardy! experience, appearing as a Celebrity contestant back in 2001—he lost to Brandi Chastain in a Final Jeopardy where Chastain finished the game with just $1. The past show experience should be helpful for Green, but this feels like a game where absolutely anything can happen.
As always, the game airs on ABC and CTV at 9:00 PM Eastern (8:00 PM Central).

Ken pointed out after Triple Jeopardy was over that Margaret’s $18,600 True Daily Double was the highest amount ever wagered on the Celebrity iteration of the show, which is true.
What he did not mention is that, not adjusted for doubled dollar values, $18,600 is also the 12th-highest Daily Double wager that’s ever been made. (Fredrik Gildea’s pre-doubled $19,000 and Bob Beers’ pre-doubled $20,000 are the only ones from the pre-doubled era that match or surpass that, so adjusting for those, $18.6K would be at #14.)
What more can I say… well done to Margaret on one of the most unbelievably dominant performances the show has ever seen!
Thank you, MasterDoge, for the info (and as always, thank you to Andy!). Margaret clearly came to Play for Real… ’twas a pleasure to watch. Looking forward to next week!
If I had been in Margaret’s shoes, with so much of a lead to play with at the end, my FJ wager would have been either $8,455 (so she could have ended with $55,555) or $27,900 (so she could have ended with $75,000), but that’s just “me” [someone who likes to watch car odometers roll over to even thousands, consecutive numbers, or repeating numbers].
I am not even thinking that I COULD HAVE been in her shoes (celebrity or not), just about her last wager. However, I did get about 80% of these boards’ clues correct (which is way above my usual average) and knew FJ. [I’ve even seen Lake Bell’s movie ‘In a world…’ and knew that basically it was based on Don LaFontaine and his famous 3-word movie trailer phrase. Well, admittedly I did not remember his name, but I knew it was some guy and I don’t think the writers expected the name to help that much other than making it clear the response should be the exact phrase rather than his name.]
