Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
Our final game of Week 8 features The Team From Toronto, Nerd Alert!, and Game Night Rules! While I don’t think any of these teams carry significance to fans of the regular show, one of these teams carries personal significance to me personally: The Team From Toronto is the first of two teams that I have personally known for quite a long time; my cheering allegiance is going to be very clear in this one. Apologies to the other two squads—I really don’t have anything against you!

In 2018, the video of the original version of the 2017 hit “Despacito”, which start Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, became the first YouTube video to reach 5 billion views. Interestingly, “Baby Shark” was released a year earlier, yet had more staying power, by 2020, “Baby Shark” had surpassed “Despacito”‘s view count.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- 23 years after I did it, I both love and hate that “Trivia Club” is still often used by Canadian trivia programs; I chose the term because of the scope expansion to a multitude of different possible trivia formats, and not just “Reach for the Top”, “SmartAsk!”, or “quiz bowl”.
- Today’s box score will be linked to when posted by the show.
Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: The Team From Toronto 15,000 Game Night Rules! 10,500 Nerd Alert! 7,000)
The Team From Toronto: Standard cover bet over Game Night Rules is 6,001. (Actual bet: 6,001)
Nerd Alert!: Bet at least 2,000 to have any shot of winning–but you might as well go all in to force a cover from Game Night. (Actual bet: 5,990)
Game Night Rules!: You can’t both cover Nerd Alert and win a Triple Stumper. You should bet at least 3,501 to cover Nerd Alert, but you might as well go all in to force a cover from Toronto. (Actual bet: 10,499)
