Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:
Celebrity Jeopardy! returns after a week off this week with a matchup between Ana Navarro, Dave Friedberg, and Yvette Nicole Brown (Community). Of our three players, Ana has been on the show before, having appeared as part of Power Players Week in 2016 (when she lost to Al Franken). I would expect that this might give Ana a bit of an advantage, having played the game before, but I’m actually expecting an evenly matched game tonight.

Yvette: Cover bet over Ana is $4,001. (Actual bet: $10,882)

LOL, I was pretty sure that was the book being referenced by the clue (though I first considered Richard Scarry’s ‘The Adventures of Lowly Worm’) and I knew the title was longer than just ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ , but I said “What is The Hungry Hungry Caterpillar?”, clearly subconsciously conflating the book title with the “Hippos” game.
[If not for the actual holes punched in the “Caterpillar” book (which I still do not recall even though I read it to my two kids many times, but long ago), this clue could easily have been about ‘The Adventures of Lowly Worm’ because when you punch a hole in a stack of paper, the “plug” that comes out resembles a worm more than a caterpillar, especially after it bends, which can happen, especially the taller the stack of paper is. This is what made me think of “Lowly Worm” first, but I decided that for an FJ clue Jeopardy! would have been more likely to pick the caterpillar book than the lowly worm book as I believe the former is more well regarded and because Lowly Worm appeared in more than one book, of which the first did not have him in the title, so people would be FAR LESS likely to think of it (which would have to be the “inspired” one) than the later titles.]
