Warning: This page contains spoilers for the March 27, 2025, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as 9:30 AM Eastern today in some U.S. television markets.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Landmarks) for Thursday, March 27, 2025 (Season 41, Game 144):

This landmark features a relief of Agrippa approving the design of an aqueduct as well as Pietro Bracci’s statue of Oceanus

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

David Weir, a retired court administrator from Palm Springs, California
David Weir on Jeopardy!
Neha Narayan, a research assistant originally from Plainsboro, New Jersey
Neha Narayan on Jeopardy!
Josh Weikert, a politics professor from Collegeville, Pennsylvania (4-day total: $59,202)
Josh Weikert on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

After last night’s victory, following a strategically excellent bet in Final Jeopardy, Josh Weikert is now a 4-game champion. As of right now, he already has a 92.35% chance of making it to the Tournament of Champions, but he could make that 100% with a victory in today’s game over David Weir from Palm Springs and Neha Narayan, originally from Plainsboro, New Jersey.

March Madness returns to TV screens on CBS this evening, which is going to cause a number of schedule changes. Some are moving the show earlier, some later, some are putting the show on a sister channel, and some aren’t airing the show at all. Check your local listings, or you can also refer to Matt Carberry’s Google sheet with a nationwide list of affected stations. This also will affect coverage here at The Jeopardy! Fan, as WTSP will be airing today’s game at 9:30 AM Eastern.

(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2025 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)

The Trevi Fountain was built in the 18th century in Rome; its design was the result of a competition organized by Pope Clement XII. Standing 86 feet in height and having a length of 161 feet, it was unfinished at the time of the death of Nicola Salvi, the original designer, in 1751—it had to be completed by four others, including Pietro Bracci, who added the statue of Oceanus in the central niche.

From a solvability perspective, I think that this is an excellent Final Jeopardy clue. One can notice the very Italian name of “Pietro Bracci”, notice all of the references to water, and put that together with a landmark to name the most famous fountain in Italy—the Trevi Fountain. In fact, I would seriously consider using this clue as a a prototypical example if I were to teach a writer how to write a Final Jeopardy clue worthy of the show.

15 Comments on "Today’s Final Jeopardy – Thursday, March 27, 2025"

  1. Right location, wrong landmark.

  2. My favorite scene in La Dolce Vita is at this fountain with Anita Ekberg with a cat on her head. Unfortunately, I was not paying attention the fountain, so I did not get this FJ correct.

  3. Congratulations to Josh.

  4. Congrats to Josh on making the ToC! I said Grand Canal, which I learned today is a natural phenomenon.

Thanks for linking to the March Madness spreadsheet.

Looking forward to your thoughts on the Masters news that just broke in the last hour. It contains aspects (9 ET/8 CT air time, return of a player who hasn’t played recently) to which you’ve objected previously.

  5. I got this because I’ve recently read about the restoration of the fountain. Just luck.

  6. I failed to note the name of one of the designers/builders of the fountain, not that it would’ve meant anything to me. Instead I focusd on the ymbolism of the art, which somehow lead me to think of canals, like the Panama Canal. Even IF there is any art at that canal, or, even the Suez Canal, quite obviously I was miles off base.
I note that the player Jeopardy fans eithr love, or, love to hate, James Holzhauer won’t be among those participating in this years Masters, although one of Ken and James’ “favorite” nemisises, Brad Rutter, will. Holzhauer wll be missed. Maybe Jeopardy Productions wanted a different mix this year, maybe Holzhower wanted a break whichever, again he’ll be missed

    • I was also surprised at this.

    • (Old) Eric | March 27, 2025 at 9:05 pm |

They announced last year that the top three finishers of Masters would be invited to return, so this must be James’s decision.

It’s too bad from my perspective, as the budding James/Victoria rivalry was going to be the most compelling aspect of this season. James has to do what’s best for him, though.

      • Robert J. Fawkes | March 27, 2025 at 10:22 pm |

I wholeheartedly agree with you, Eric. I was really looking forward to the rivalry/competition between James and Victoria. I also found that rivalry the most compelling aspect of this season. There’s no doubt this was a decision by James and he has to do what is best for him and his family.

  7. I was just thinking Rome and water and guessed Trevi fountain.

  8. Robert J. Fawkes | March 27, 2025 at 7:46 pm |

Thanks to the 1954 movie “Three Coins in A Fountain,” I was familiar with what the Trevi Fountain depicts. I did expect, at least, one of the contestants to get this Final but, alas, it was a Triple Stumper. Again, someone from an older generation may have found this easier than today’s youngsters (thanks to the film, maybe).

  9. Robert J. Fawkes | March 27, 2025 at 7:47 pm |

Sadly, the Masters Tournament just became a lot less interesting to me now that I learned that James will not be participating. 🙁

    • Robert J. Fawkes | March 27, 2025 at 7:49 pm |

I guess this means Matt will now have to take James’ place as the “Villain.” Just kidding, of course.

    • Robert!

I’ll repeat my comments that I posted in the ‘Breaking News’ section.

I am so very excited by the list of participants.

This is going to be an AMAZING tournament!
