A Statement From The Jeopardy! Fan In Response To TV Insider

Earlier today, I published an editorial in which I stated the following in reference to Jeopardy! YouTube Edition:

“I also want to point out that the general excitement about this on every platform except for Reddit just goes to show that reporters like Brittany Sims of TV Insider and Caitlyn Agnello over at The U.S. Sun just look incredibly silly (and borderline incompetent) for choosing to cherry-pick the opinions of the five people who do not like this in order to once again put down the show.”

The Jeopardy! Fan stands entirely by this statement.

TV Insider said “Fans had mixed reactions to the news”; The U.S. Sun’s headline read “fans are asking ‘do we really need this?’

In my opinion, both outlets deliberately mischaracterized the amount of support that this spinoff has; a cursory look at the YouTube comments on the promo, to give one example here, is an overwhelming majority of unbridled support for Tuesday’s game.

In my further opinion, this “both-sides-ism” that these outlets insist upon doing in the face of overwhelming support is one of the major issues facing the media landscape in America right now, especially in terms of amplifying what otherwise would be a clear minority viewpoint.

I am sick and tired of watching these reporters constantly post only negative news regarding my favorite piece of media.

I await the correction from “TV Insider” of their article to read “Fans are excited about this news”, instead of “Fans had mixed reactions to this news”.

  1. Well said.

  2. I’m not in the target demographic but I enjoyed it. Moreover, it’s a good way to grow the audience for the show.
