Warning: This page contains spoilers for the March 27, 2026, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as 9:30 AM Eastern in some U.S. television markets.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Celebrity Memoirs) for Friday, March 27, 2026 (Season 42, Game 145):

In the title of a 2023 memoir, Dame Judi Dench calls him “the man who pays the rent”

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Tanya Iyer, a student originally from Lisle, Illinois
Tanya Iyer on Jeopardy!
Brent Wilson, a manager research assistant from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Brent Wilson on Jeopardy!
Jamie Ding, a bureaucrat & law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey (10-day total: $272,810)
Jamie Ding on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Yesterday’s game saw Jamie Ding become the 20th superchampion in Jeopardy! history, winning his 10th consecutive game. Today he goes for win #11 against Toronto’s Brent Wilson and Illinois’s Tanya Iyer. Interestingly, none of the previous 19 superchampions have lost when going for win #11; will that streak continue today?

The big news from yesterday is the new Jeopardy! YouTube edition, whose first episode is airing Tuesday, March 31 on YouTube at 9:00 PM Eastern (6:00 PM Pacific) between YouTube stars Monét X Change, Rebecca Black, and Brennan Lee Mulligan. I have a number of friends who I’d consider to be reasonably close to the target audience of this programming—and let me tell you, the excitement that I am seeing for this lineup is palpable. I can’t wait for next Tuesday evening! I also want to point out that the general excitement about this on every platform except for Reddit just goes to show that reporters like Brittany Sims of TV Insider and Caitlyn Agnello over at The U.S. Sun just look incredibly silly (and borderline incompetent) for choosing to cherry-pick the opinions of the five people who do not like this in order to once again put down the show.

CBS’s coverage of the “Sweet 16” round of March Madness will cause some schedule changes on CBS stations today; if you watch on a CBS station that airs the show later in the day, make sure to check your local listings or Matt Carberry’s Google sheet. The major change to the schedule is that WTSP Tampa is planning on airing today’s game at 9:30 AM Eastern; thus, the results will be posted earlier.

Finally, Quarterfinal #3 of this season of Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars airs tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern (7:00 Central) on ABC and CTV. This week’s game is between Sean Gunn, Roy Wood Jr., and Cynthia Nixon.

Prior to rising to international fame as a result of her role at M in 8 James Bond films from the 1990s through to the 2010s and her eight Oscar-nominated roles, Dame Judi Dench began her career as a Shakespearean actress, having performed in many of the Bard’s plays with the Old Vic Company, the National Theatre Company, and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Thus, she titled her 2023 memoir Shakespeare: The Man who Pays the Rent. Dench also won her only Oscar for playing Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love.

I suspect that a lot of people are going to take the James Bond route here (myself included), without really thinking too hard about Dench’s Shakespeare career.

Game Recap:

It looked for a few minutes late in Double Jeopardy like Jamie Ding might become the first superchampion to lose when going for victory #11 when he got the game’s final Daily Double incorrect, but another one of his patented late charges was enough to barely ensure that he had a runaway game entering the final clue of the week in regular play.

Final Jeopardy was a Triple Stumper today; Jamie lost a token amount and is now an 11-day champion with winnings getting very close to $300,000. He’ll start off a new week, likely quite refreshed, on Monday.

Scores going into Final:

Jamie $19,800
Brent $9,400
Tanya $6,200

Tonight’s results:

Tanya $6,200 – $6,200 = $0 (Who is Patrick Stewart?)
Brent $9,400 – $257 = $9,143 (Who is Lloyd Webber)
Jamie $19,800 – $790 = $19,010 (Who is (Bond,) James Bond?) (11-day total: $291,820)

Jamie Ding, today's Jeopardy! winner (for the March 27, 2026 game.)

Jamie Ding, to win:

12 games: 73.440%
13: 53.934%
14: 39.609%
15: 29.089%
16: 21.363%
Avg. streak: 13.765 games.

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • I felt Brent’s interview had a little bit too much self-deprecation for my liking. Even if it was re-taped after the game, it comes across like he gave up way too early—and giving up isn’t really the best way to beat a superchampion.
  • Today’s J!6 clues can be found at the monthly archive.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:

(Scores: Jamie $19,800 Brent $9,400 Tanya $6,200)

Jamie: Bet no more than $999 and enjoy win #11. (Actual bet: $790)

Brent: Standard cover bet is $3,001. Since Tanya has to be correct to pass you and thus has occasion to go all in, you should probably do this. (Actual bet: $257)

Tanya: You have to be correct to take second place. Bet at least $200—but you might as well go all in here to force a cover bet from Brent. (Actual bet: $6,200)
