Today’s Final Jeopardy – Thursday, March 26, 2026

Warning: This page contains spoilers for the March 26, 2026, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as 9:30 AM Eastern today in some U.S. television markets.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category U.S. Business) for Thursday, March 26, 2026 (Season 42, Game 144):

When it was founded in northern Minnesota in 1902, this company had one goal—to mine for corundum; it has since expanded

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Jeff Bienstock, a musical theater writer from Brooklyn, New York
Jeff Bienstock on Jeopardy!
Donna Vaughan Singer, a radio news anchor from Long Island, New York
Donna Vaughan Singer on Jeopardy!
Jamie Ding, a bureaucrat & law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey (9-day total: $245,802)
Jamie Ding on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Jamie Ding is now a 9-time champion; he goes for win #10 today in an attempt to reach superchampion status. Looking to stop him from doing so are a pair of New Yorkers in Brooklyn’s Jeff Bienstock and Long Island’s Donna Vaughan Singer.

Some statistical numbers to look forward to today: If Jamie wins, he is extremely likely to break into the top 20 in regular play winnings. He also needs 27 correct responses to reach 300 career correct

Some of you may have noticed some changes to the chances to the ToC Tracker, specifically the chances that players like Harrison Whitaker and Jamie Ding will receive byes to the semifinals of the Tournament of Champions. This is because, instead of taking a straight 50% or 58% chance of winning the next game (the long-term and medium-term averages), I have elected to fit win chances for each game to an exponential curve, in order to take into account that superchampions are much more likely to keep winning. I am thus much happier overall with the predictions at this point.

CBS’s coverage of the “Sweet 16” round of March Madness will cause some schedule changes on CBS stations today and Friday; if you watch on a CBS station that airs the show later in the day, make sure to check your local listings or Matt Carberry’s Google sheet. The major change to the schedule is that WTSP Tampa is planning on airing today’s game at 9:30 AM Eastern; thus, the results will be posted earlier.

3M—previously known as Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing—was founded in Two Harbors, Minnesota and soon moved to Duluth (later St. Paul). The company’s founders believed that they had found corundum in the area, which had commercial value as an abrasive material for sandpaper. Unfortunately, this part of the venture failed because the material in the mine was actually anorthosite instead. However, the company persisted in the research and development of sandpaper products and expanded. Today, its best known consumer brands include Scotch Tape and Post-it notes.

Honestly, considering that business-related categories have been known to take down great players in the past, this feels like a relatively straightforward clue for the category. We shall see how this plays!

Game Recap:

Jamie Ding once again cleared the 30 correct response mark, bringing his career total over 300, as he cruised to a runaway victory for win #10, potentially aided by some top-row clue selections and more conservative Daily Double betting from our two challengers.

Final Jeopardy saw two of our players correct, with Jamie bringing his total over $270,000 for ten wins, becoming the 20th superchampion in show history.

Scores going into Final:

Jamie $26,000
Jeff $4,400
Donna $3,800

Tonight’s results:

Donna $3,800 + $3,798 = $7,598 (What is 3M?)
Jeff $4,400 – $4,395 = $5 (What is North Star?)
Jamie $26,000 + $1,008 = $27,008 (What is 3M?) (10-day total: $272,810)
