Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:
The Ike Barinholtz–Patton Oswalt Celebrity Jeopardy! rivalry gets its next chapter written tonight in a rematch of the Season 1 final, with Mira Sorvino getting the Wil Wheaton seat. I think a lot of fans are going to be tipping Ike—who made it as far as the Tournament of Champions semifinals in 2024—to run away with this one, but Patton’s numbers have been nearly as strong in the past, to the point where I think this has the potential to be an incredibly close game. And, certainly, there’s a chance that Mira Sorvino pulls off a major upset of her own here, especially if both of our rivals here hit a bump in the road.
While tonight’s game airs at 8:00 (7:00 Central) as normal on ABC, if you are Canadian: check your local listings. Tonight’s game is airing on CTV Halifax at 8:00 PM Atlantic (one hour earlier than normal), 10:00 PM Eastern in Toronto and Montreal, 9:00 PM in Winnipeg, 10:00 PM in Regina, 8:00 PM in Calgary and Edmonton, and 10:00 PM in Vancouver. Much like last night, because my home market here at The Jeopardy! Fan in St. John’s, Newfoundland gets the CTV Halifax feed, today’s results will be posted at the conclusion of the airing on that channel.

Triple Jeopardy! Round:
(Categories: Court Justices: Supreme Edition; I Don’t Want To Go To There; On “B”rand; Words Named For Places; We Got An EGOT; Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better)
In one of the most dramatic five-clue stretches in the history of the show, Ike first doubled up on DD4 to take a big lead. Then, Patton found DD5 on clue #11, dramatically pulling close to Ike with a $10,100 True Daily Double. The suspense ramped up even more when Patton’s next pick was DD6, and Patton went for a $20,200 True Daily Double. Heartbreakingly, Patton’s run just about ended there when he named the wrong hat—he later said in the break that he overlooked the word “brimless”—as Ike cruised to a runaway from that point forward. But this is the sort of excitement that I absolutely love to see at this level of play, and regardless of the overall outcome, I think I have to call this one of my favorite episodes of this game of all time. (Oh, yeah, Patton went 3/5 on B Brands and Ike went 4/5 in “Anything you can do, I can do better”.)
Statistics after Triple Jeopardy:
Ike 38 correct 7 incorrect
Mira 20 correct 4 incorrect
Patton 22 correct 5 incorrect

Mira $6,700 – $6,700 = $0 (What bi)

Andy’s Thoughts:
- It may not have worked for Patton, but those True Daily Doubles were 100% the right move.
- I would advise Patton to potentially avoid O’Brien’s Pub Quiz in Santa Monica.
- There’s no need to post wagering suggestions today, thanks to the runaway.
